Semin may be a head case at least that's what's being tossed around out there, Howeveer he always seems to have a good +/- rating. Would he be worth a 3 year deal at the right price?
- jstross

IMO, +/- is the last thing to consider when deciding on a player. It's largely a team stat.

I have zero interest in Semin, at any price.

If Semin goes to New York, Jim Schoenfeld will be coaching them by Christmas, because Tortorella will be in jail for strangling Semin before then.

Don't even bother arguing. People in here seem to think Jake (who I like) is the second coming of Christ. They also love to whine about our defense, but are unwilling to trade Gus. Lastly, they killed Homer for Laughton, who was a stretch at his draft position and is THREE years away, but we can't trade him for a proven 25 year old 30 goal scorer.

- Flyers1218

Nobody on here has said they are unwilling to trade Gustafsson, or Voracek, or Laughton. It is the combination of the packages that some have objected to in trading for Ryan. So your badly misrepresenting what people have said.

People on here are expecting that Bobby Ryan will be traded for MAB and a 1st (which is actually what I don't want to trade based on what I've heard about next years draft) all because he publicly asked to be moved. News flash: Anaheim will get what they want for him or they won't move him and if he doesn't want to play than he doesn't get paid. You have to give up a lot to get a perennial 30 goal scorer who is 5 years from 30 despite what all the HockeyyInsiderrs in here think.

- Flyers1218

I haven't read anyone say that they would expect Ryan for MAB and a first. Another misrepresentation on your part. There's a big difference between giving up a lot, and giving up too much.

Flyers then get the $$$ under the cap after the season starts which would help at the deadline. However, Already having the $4.9 for Pronger I thought they could use and extra 500K-1M at the start?
- jstross

You do understand that if the Flyers use LTIR, that 4.9M shrinks and gets smaller every day?

+/- means very little. Esp. for forwards. Forwards like Semin, Briere, etc. are sheltered. The majority of the time their starting in the offensive zone.

just checkin' in...

so we got rusty. homer nailed that one

but really, rusty is a useful plyr who can play throughout the lineup up in a pinch. he's also shown up in big gms, so that's a plus.

It doesn't mean he'll sign with you yes but I believe a Flyers team with all it's top picks and prospects would be more appealing to a player than one that sells the farm doing so in the process. If he hits free agency, which he most likely will what team has a better core and more money to spend? As far as I know he has no issue with playing in the east or a want to play with Parise. I wait it out and take my chances.
- hereticpride

I'd prefer they wait it out too for three reasons....

1. The UFA market is deep next year as of now....consolation prizes to be had.
2. The Draft is reported to be deep in talent next year....keep our 1st rounder.
3. Major money coming off the Flyers books next year....enough to offer Weber the stars and the moon and the keys to skatezone.

If Weber becomes available in a trade this Season, and you don't get in on it and make the deal. Chances are another team trades for him, and he never hits Free Agency.

If they open up the bidding yes. Buff scares me a bit because they have TyMy as a piece, Gill could be a great mentor to him.

I don't believe he gets traded because he's probably not interested in ingoring all the other offers that every team in the league will undoubtably pitch.

If anything he might hit the market to give Nashville one last chance to do something big and prove something to him.

Weber isn't the person who will decide whether he gets traded or not.

Weber just saw a far lesser player get a 13 yr 98 million dollar deal. Regardless of if he gets traded or not, he's a UFA after the 2012-2013 season is over. Any team that trades for him has to understand that. The odds a team can get him locked up before he becomes a free agent is slim and none. He's going to play out this season whether it be in Nashville, or elsewhere and then sit back like a boss and watch the 100+ million dollar contract offers roll in.
