Not sure about that I can't say I've worked with that...uh...variety, but as a soil scientist I can say that those plants look spindly and need some nitrogen.

Right now I'm very happy with the offseason. Seems like random patchwork so far other than the JVR trade. I'm willing to be patient, but so far I'm underwhelmed.

Id hate to see a guy we traded one of our former franchise players for, up and leave after two years to go on and be successful somewhere else.

I'd say lets worry about that in two years. Not really my concern right now. I'm fine with a one or two year deal for now.

By the way, if Kostitsyn's brother wasn't playing in North America, he would be the next KHL signing. Still might be.

I'm underwhelmed by the deals, but also very happy that they didn't over pay going after the bright shiny UFA

he is....but i think ryan > voracek. if voracek has found his shot then he would be deadly.

Ryan's a better finisher right now, that's about it and not really saying much.

Hearing that Howson insisted on Fedotenko as the centerpiece of any deal for Nash with the NYR. Clearly we have only acquired him to strengthen our chances of landing Nash.

I do agree that Ryan is a little better than Jake. But when comparing them I think it's more important to view them as two different types of players that bring different things. Vorachek is very good at creating offense by holding onto the puck, using his speed, etc. Teams absolutely need that skill as much as they need a sniper.

Even though we need a sniper for G as well, I think Jake is probably the best playmaker on the team after G. So giving him up could hurt as much as help. Then adding in the plus in the deal could tip it against us.

Maybe G needs a playmaker on his wing as he's not such a bad sniper himself
