Well it may be a good time to get him, since he only had 15 goals last year.
- Powerslave

Maybe Stewart's style of play didn't match up too well with what Hitchkock envisioned... Stewart never had more than 70 PIMs in a season before this past..

it would be awfully nice to have Foligno, Ott, Stewart, Stafford, Grigorenko all out on the ice being 6'2+

I think the Sabres need to call San Jose, who has 4 good/great centers and a old/bad D corp. Or Philly... unless Pronger comes back, with the lose of Carle, their D went way down hill...

#44 + #81 for #48

- Chipd

I would not throw mcnabb out there for briere, given his age

I would give them sekera, gerbe, weber and a second rounder for briere though

Briere is making too much money IMO. I think there is 2 things Darcy wants in any player... youth and size.. and Briere is batting .000s in that department.

and i especially do not want to see our youth like McNabb going to Philly. (frank) PHILLY!

We already have a Weber...

Don't see Shea coming here.

I'm good with Arnott coming in on a one year deal. Show the kids some leadership.

CERN researchers confirmed this morning that Sekera is, in fact, the elusive God Particle.

I'm pulling for the kid, but imagine what we know (and heard) of Girgensons, and HIM being the center between those two.

yikes.

I'd actually love to see an Ott/Arnott/Langenbrunner 3rd line.

- Powerslave

I like it. I like guys who have won cups if im not mistaken we dont have any on the roster.. I dont think Leino was really on the last wings cup team

Briere is making too much money IMO
- JVince11

109 points in 108 playoff games

instant chemistry with pommer and leino

no way in hell is 6.5 mil too much money for his production

leino, briere, pommer
vanek, coho, staff
foligno, ennis, ott

love those lines

I think the kid makes it

Vanek, Coho, Pommer
Foligno, Ennis, Staff
Ott, Grigorenko, Clutterbuck
whatever, does it matter, who cares

- homiedclown

Clutterbuck is their protection for their star players.. and he is only making 1.4M.. its not like he is an overpaid guy... and he is probably one of their top top fan favorites there.. I just don't see the move possible.

trust me.. I know allll about what he can do in the playoffs.. but he coasts through the whole season.... We have to get to the playoffs first for our playoff specialist players like Leino and Briere to show up making 2 of hte top 5 salaries on our team?? no thanks

As long as they think Grigs can step in to a top 2 Center role next year... I think this is the SMART thing to. You can get him for 1 or 2 years at 4 Mill a year, he's got size and smarts to play with Ott and Leino.... that line would have great puck control.

pommer played his best hockey with briere as did leino

it is foolish to overlook that for a realistic cap hit that briere makes

pretty sure they'll be fine...

of course, if they wanted sekera, i wouldn't be opposed

- b0s0o1

Nashville may be interested in Sekera now that Sutter hit the road. I was listening to NHL on XM this morning and they had Polle's interview after he signed and he was bitter! He did say they will now be actively looking for a replacement D-man. Not sure if we would be interested in any of their roster players (obviously Legwand, Fisher, etc but realistically).

I don't like trading our good talent to Philly for a small 34 year old center who makes 6.5M

I just think there are better options...

See... we want offense in return for a deal... and they don't have much offense to give...

I'd want Colin Wilson, Patric Hornqvist, or D Roman Josi coming back. I don't think they are good trading partners.
