I'd rather have Hemsky (and I DON'T want him at all)
- Powerslave

Why? if you don't mind me asking... Semin has had more points than Parise in the last few years combined...

Semin has his character flaws but Hemsky has talent flaws.

you just answered your own question.

Keep the character flaws as far away from this team as possible. They are a fragile enough bunch, we don't need another "me first" head case

Alexander Semin is Derek Roy all over again but for different reasons. He puts up points, but he's still not a winner. If Buffalo's forward depth was much better, I'd consider it, but Semin at or near the top will not translate to success.

I really don't like it that Alex Hemsky is "available" and we are in the market... another overpaid/underachieving guy...

I think Semin is our last ace in the hole incase Ryan or whoever falls through.

If we were to sign Semin to anything under 4M a year and then maybe trade sekera for Chris Stewart... I would be more than satisfied with our upgrades going into next season.

- JVince11

I agree I put him the same boat as Roy. Seems he is always on the trade market and you just dont go putting great players on the trade block.

I'm guessing if Shea Weber were involved, Darcy Regier would listen.
- buffalofan19

Your guess is as good as mine but I'm thinking they are not even interested in Shea Weber.

Yeah, I don't want Hemsky either...and the more I read about Semin he may even be worse than Roy.

They also had a pretty solid top 4/5 dmen last year in front of him.. Zanon and Foster are gone.
- JVince11

pretty sure they'll be fine...

of course, if they wanted sekera, i wouldn't be opposed

fair enough... Hemsky's 5M for never having more than 51 pts though..

I'm putting all of my "want this player" chips... onto Chris Stewart.. 6'2 232lbs.. 2 time 28+ goal scorer.. 24 years old.. RFA.. He even had 109 PIMs last year trying to basically play the same role as Lucic does..

I know we don't need defensemen, but Weber could put many teams into instant contender category.

everybody in the league should be interested in that guy

Why would we give up our signed and affordable franchise D and players/prospects that we don't want to lose just to take on someone else's franchise D? I know that right now Weber is better. Myers is still on the growing curve. More importantly, Myers is signed long term and Weber only has a year left. So in a year we'd have to offer Weber 100 mill and hope he stays? Let someone else pay him an absurd salary.

The better idea is to stay the course. Our record with Myers and the Hoff in the lineup was excellent. Rather than trying to fix what isn't broke, upgrade the forwards.

Well it may be a good time to get him, since he only had 15 goals last year.

I'm pulling for the kid, but imagine what we know (and heard) of Girgensons, and HIM being the center between those two.

yikes.

I'd actually love to see an Ott/Arnott/Langenbrunner 3rd line.

I think the Sabres need to call San Jose, who has 4 good/great centers and a old/bad D corp. Or Philly... unless Pronger comes back, with the lose of Carle, their D went way down hill...

I know his production has gone down but the guys a goal scorer with the right players. Still not a center, I know, but I'd take him.
