When did Darcy fleece Dallas? When he gave up the guy who has led his team in points in 3 of the last 5 seasons (and had the highest pp/g average in a 4th of the 5 seasons) for someone eminently less talented? He really took them to the cleaners there. - lacaprup
People put way too much into individual statistics. This team had a better win percentage without Roy in the lineup than when he was in it for the past two years. That's why this is a good trade. It's about wins, not points. There is very little correlation between Roy's point production and the team's success. |

and i think the most important thing about this whole situation is that we will not ever see the Pommer roy vanek line again... Roy is the exact opposite kind of center that vanek needed but they were always together |

That and changing the culture of the team on and off of the ice. The trade could help both teams.
I know it helps me by not having to pay a penny to see Derek Roy play this year! |

After what Nashville just experienced with Suter, they would be ignorant to not listen to offers. Problem being, will Weber sign long term with us? |

Okay, I got up extremely early to go for a pretty long run, and am now at work. My sarcasm detector is in questionable shape. This is a test to see if it's working... |

I'd do that.
I'm banking on the fact that if you give Pegula a whole year to convince a player to sign here long term, he'll succeed. |

There's always the "conditional" pick as well, on whether or not he signs long-term.
Myers does have more value than you think, though, based on the fact that he is already under contract for a long time, especially because Buffalo has already paid at least half of his bonus money. |

If it means I get a player as good as Shea Weber, I worry about that later. Hell, I'd even live with taking Derek Roy back. |
