You mean they have a system that the entire team has bought into and they use it to the best of their ability. Great concept. Maybe there are other teams that want this private info..?

Wait a minute...you rooted for Parise when he was on the Devils?!?! What kind of Islanders fan are you?

- Hockey_Hoser

I'm assuming this was in the blog as well? Hope someone was hitting the sauce a little early today, because that would horrific, even for her.

so how is it that the Isles are still the joke of the league with dp's contract yet crosby has 12 years and now suter and parise have 13? Not to mention Luongo, Carter and a host of others.

Wang gets laughed at a ton but he's the first to come up with the long term deal and now it's a heavily used tool.

I hope so much that the cap goes down as a result of the cba negotiations and the 5 teams at the top of the league in salary all have to scramble to unload some dollars.

*** and don't tell me crosby is worth the 12 year deal because of who he is, that guy is done for his career if someone rings his doorbell let alone hits him on the ice.

Just think of how sad Isles fans would have been today if they drafted Parise.

Could you imagine if that was the Isles that just lost Parise?

So I guess it was a good thing after all...

Yes it was from the blog I actually read....why? good question. I've been biting my tongue for years regarding the Islanders blogger. To put it lightly, I feel the Islanders fans deserve a better blogger than just some overglorified puck bunny who seems to know more about the players than the sport itself.

Feel the shame already! because we all feel it for you...

I found this quote hilarious coming from a Leaf fan. Yes, I'm aware it was based on our blogger and no, I'm not defending her. I don't feel the need to bash her but I also don't see anyone else stepping up, so I don't comment.

maybe that quote can be the new Leafs Gatorade commercial slogan

FEEL THE SHAME!

This is pretty much what stops me from commenting every time. Well, that and the fact I can't really comment on things I don't read. I certainly respect the fact that she's stuck around this long despite constantly getting critiqued and getting a ton of information (supposedly, I wouldn't know) wrong. Getting critiqued is part of writing for a website or a publication though, so you have to be pretty thick-skinned.

And...why bash the Toronto fan? Is he wrong?

Honestly...I would love to do a blog (although I hate that word), I'm already contributing to another (non-hockey) site and I worked for everyone's favorite newspaper for more than 6 years, pre-Dolan . Problem is I don't have the time to try to gain access to the building or the locker room, and my work hours prevent me from watching most games from beginning to end. I've been a fan--of hockey and the Islanders--since the early 80s though.

Our last blogger got fired by Ek.

As long as we have a place to go and chat... I don't care who our blogger is.

Alot of teams don't have one!!!

Suter replaces Martinek!

OK just kidding. But as an Isles fan I wish good health for our players since injuries are what interrupted the development of so many of our players.

True Parise and Suter are not coming here but we have a nice core to build around.
Boyes and Carkner realize they will be getting the ice time and you just hope the team stays healthy and in shape.

Hi, Dee. $98 million over 12 years is $7.5 million per, not 12. It's called math. Atta girl.

Having Dee as the islander blogger is just the icing on the cake for being an Islander fan

To be fair to the Toronto fan, that wasn't an attempt at bashing him. More of a light hearted attempt to stop the comments from turning into a dee bashing tirade yet again. No offense intended, just messing with him a bit

I wouldn't be so hard on her. It would be a pretty boring site if there was no Islander blogger. We'd be left with Eklund and all his crazy talk.

It may not always be the greatest stuff but Dee keeps me coming back every day!!

The Islanders should offer Okposo and Ness to the Wild and see what they get back. The Wild are almost at the cap with the signing of Parise and Suter.

If Zach's knee is really a concern, this will be RDP all over agin. -Dee Karl.

Doubt it. Zach already had a track record that warranted a big money contract. DP was never deserving of a long term big money deal. Also, praise is not an injury waiting to happen where dp could shatter his hip if he sneezes.
