agreed, but I don't think the owners will die on the re-alignment hill in this CBA
- BigDre

I doubt its a real issue, when the union shot down the NHL's realignment proposal most people agreed it was just a negotiating tactic. My point is, regardless of how long you think a lockout might be, I'd be shocked if they came out of it without some sort of realignment, and Minnesota might get shifted East.

Maybe, but you still have to think Minnesota is a prime candidate to move east.
- S Kaspar Rollins

??? Min move east? I hope you mean to the central, not the eastern conference. Try det, columbus, or nashville.

Logical re-alignment won't happen unless two teams are either added or subtracted from the league.
- BigDre

It is ridiculous. The league should just put Nashville in the southeast, Winnipeg in the northwest and Minny in the central. Also, a month from now the league will be complaining about salaries being out of control and I won't be surprised when there is a lockout/labor stoppage.

They'd fit right in with the new playoffs then if last year was anything to go by.

Sad day for Devs and Preds fans but a good one for the league in the fact that they went to a non-playoff team as opposed to one of the Cup favorites.

it sucks losing parise short term, but i dont think parise is worth what he got, throughout the season devils fans were saying anything over 7 is too much

we are going to miss his leadership, down low game and his hustle

he will be good short term, but he doesnt have the skills or body to work out long term, he doesnt have the shot or the skating ability, he is all about hard work and finesse and typically those guys go south pretty quickly once they hit the barrier

time to see what lou does

My assumption was that Winni would come to the NW, COL goes pacific, Dallas goes SE. But that's just me, I'm sure there's a bunch of other factors I'm not thinking about (time zones and all that)

finally, we wont have to hear about the nucks thinking they are so good, when reality it was because their division is a joke. lets see how they do with a real team playing against them

My fault, I'm an idiot who keeps thinking Minnesota is farther east geographically than it actually is. Ignore previous comments on this

It really is in the middle of nowhere and could slide to just about any division except pacific or SE

they should just do a northern and a southern division, then nobody can cry about time zones or travel because it will all be relatively equal as all teams will cross the country regularly

98M over 13 years is alot of money for two guys that haven't won a Stanley Cup, never won a major award, were never nominated for a major award, and have not led the league in any statistical category since being in the league.

Now talk to me about desperation and intangibles.

Always funny how you turn every post - even ones having nothing whatsoever relating to Vancouver - into anti-Canuck douchebagerie.

If either of those guys gets more than 6 years it's probably a terrible contract.

how does this have nothing to do with vancouver? the nucks have been playing in the easiest division, it'll be fun to see what they do playing against a real team.
