Never mind the fact this is the first offseason Feaster hasn't been totally weighed down (no pun intended) by Sutter's remaining garbage. - S Kaspar Rollins
You sound like a lib when it comes to Bush and Obama.
Sutter and Fatster are garbage GM's. W. and Hussein are garbage Presidents.

Fair enough dude. I'm just giving you my opinion because I feel its a lot easier to sit and chirp from outside looking in.
You wanna talk some smack I will reply. - The-Dalai-Lama
Dude Oiler fans just went through a painful period (post-2006 to pre-Hall and still going a bit) that is reminiscent to what you guys seem to be going through. I'm not talking smack, I'm giving you a perspective from someone who drank the Kool-aid his team was handing out after a cup run and learned the hard way to look at his team with clearer eyes. |

Trading Jbo is not easy
Wideman is worth less then 4.5 mil when comparing his stats to MA Bergeron
MAB 465GP 81G 226P
Wideman 535GP 67G 251P
Granted Wideman can skate backwards so maybe that is worth 3 mil.
Jankowski is not a guranteed bust, but he also could have been drafted in the 2nd or 3rd round instead of waisting a 1st on him. - Oilhab
Wideman logs 24 minutes per game. There is value there. Little weak MAB is poope haha. I don't like comparing the 2 because from what I know they are different players.
Call me crazy but looking at Wideman individually I would expect that someone entering their prime, who is 10th in league scoring for d-men, with very limited d-men on the open market would command a raise. Again, I never said it wasn't an overpayment because I believe it was, but only by .25 - .75 million. Again, the flames have a huge need for a D-man on their first PP unit. And also Wideman can take away some of Butler minutes which is also really needed.
I've heard from a lot of people that said Jankowski would have been gone in the first round even if the Flames didn't take him. Based off that, and the fact that they got a mid second round pick by trading down I like the deal. They had a 14th overall pick, it wasn't like it was in the top 5 or even top 10. |

Fair enough.
I just think the situations are different. The Oilers were forced to rebuild because nobody would play there I.E. Pronger, Heatley. They made some AWFUL moves I.E. Penner and wound up sucking big time. They didn't have players like Iginla or Kipprusoff who could still win in the league.
Edmonton MIGHT turn out great. But I don't think the situations are the same.
I don't think the Flames are sick and I dont think the future is super bright. However I dont think Feaster is the WORST gm in the NHL, and I dont think the cupboards are as bare in Calgary as everyone says they are. That's all i'm trying to get across.

You do of course realize that no one knows anything about the Wild cause Lemaire killed any interest in the franchise?

And the only reason Edmonton is talked about at all is because you've sucked for so long, keep drafting 1st or some where near it, and continue to suck. I'm jealous. |

A statement of truth:
ex: Darryl Sutter and Jay Feaster are terrible GM's that have sent the Calgary Flames into the dark ages.
George W. Bush and Barack Hussein Obama are terrible Presidents. If you weren't so partisan, you'd understand this. |

The Wild have made the playoffs once since the Oilers made their run to the cup, Meaning the Wild have sucked for just as long as the Oilers, except you don't have the first round picks to show for it. |

wtf? how do you know if i'm partisan or not and for that matter partisan for which side?
you list 4 people who are "terrible" and then you say that is a fact.
it's funny you label me a partisan but in the same breath that your OPINIONS are fact.
