Based on the last 11 straight seasons i'll go with yes.

The Flames offence will be good this year.

Every once in awhile the good guys win and that happened to day twice. Nobody on here atleast besides Wild fans gave them a shot at Suter let alone signing both! And they will have plenty of cap space in the next 2-3 years to along with all the young players. Great day for the WILD!

Ya, they actually have some decent talent up front.....although I don't expect anyone who isn't a Flames fan to actually know that. It's a lot easier to just bash without any knowledge.

Im actually happy those two players went to minnesota not like they were coming to the leafs anyways but good they are not in the east the west just got that more competitive! But surely this is a good thing? The wild have been poop forever ever since they started that franchise Its about time they got some decent players as UFAS and push for playoffs to make a cup run.

Well I have to admit that this is an AMAZING move for the Wild...they went from a team that never makes the playoffs to a team that will be a formidable foe (maybe the Sharks will actually take them seriously now and stop treating it like a night off...FINALLY...sick of hearing it from in-laws). Parise, Suter...and probably the much less known picking up of Torrey Mitchell (gonna miss that guy...but at least he's back with Seto). However, can we get some love on Sharks rumors other than the stupidly lopsided trade talks for Nash...the rumors where apparently the Sharks are looking to destroy our team to get him (esp being that Pavy ALONE is a better value....more points...better two way player...best in league in faceoffs, and 3.5 Mil less a year....)

If these signings are gonna be sooo bad for the Canucks, imagine how bad they are gonna be for the other bottom feeders in the NW.

And to all that complain (especially Oiler and Flame fans) about how bad the NW was and how the Nucks feasted off that, isn't our fault your teams are SH!T.

- stuckey

the other teams in the NW are rebuilding. calgary should be rebuilding, but that is a lost cause. nucks are the only ones that get affected in the NW...

I'll use your saying bro....apples to oranges!!!

Every draft is different!

That's like saying the Oilers think Hall, Yakupov and RNH will all be better than Malkin.

Their backend is pretty solid too. This isnt a bad team.
They did overpay for wideman, but he does make them better.

Not sure they go too far without a #1c, but this team could make the playoffs.

I'm going to say yes, but an underrated story right now is Iginla's contract negotiations with the Flames (last year on his deal.) very curious to see the years on the extension he gets.
- S Kaspar Rollins

Or doesnt get

Hey may also do a three year deal with an open agreement to allow a trade to happen with his permission if Feaster is presented with some nice assets for the team. Although I too strongly believe Iginla stays in Calgary, I hope for the franchise hes open to movement and that Feaster is prepared to move him if the deal is right.

The problem is though, that although the team is currently strong with Iginla and Kipper around, and a few roster tweaks can get them in the playoffs...the pieces they need to actually compete hard in the playoffs will cost them assets they dont necessarily have or can afford to give up right now.

Feaster needs to realize that Iginla will start to decline in production in the next 2-3 years and that he can get the most value out of him in a trade this year with a few stronger teams who are only missing 1-2 pieces for a cup run. Its more important to this franchise, imo, to continue strengthening their team with long term goals in mind, but to not "plan" for playoffs this year and make changes accordingly.

Iginla will likely remain a Flames fan, but I hope Feaster entertains the idea of him accepting a trade if it benefits the team...the guy has been great for the city and team but Feasters primary goal is to win the cup, not to ensure Iginla is happy (case can be made for Iggy though, lol)
