Yup, but like i said, Burke will only trade Gardiner if he feels the player/s he is getting back contributes to the future as well.
Im not a blind Leaf fan that thinks Gardiner cant be traded for anything, but IMO Burke will only trade him for an overpayment, or for a player with very similar potential to Gardiner - peddy-93
Only a few years ago schenn was untouchable too, so yeah, i guess you have a point. At some point the honeymoon between Gardiner and leafs nation will be over, a few mistakes, a little regression, a bad year etc. |

Doan would be nice...Jagr would have been nice...Hudler would have been nice...Garrison and Salvador would have been nice as well... - Flyfreaky
I agree with Doan.
Salvador will likely be getting the C in NJ...don't think many teams stood a chance of grabbing him.
Everyone else - Jagr, Hudler and Garrison I don't think would be smart pickups at all. Garrison more so for the price and term he wanted/got. And if that was his contract for signing in his home town, imagine what he would've wanted to go elsewhere. |

leafs need to make room for kadri
or trade kadri, mac, franson, +prospect for a SOLID top 6 winger or 1C - big_dion
Yup , agreed. It's time to give him a full chance on the team or send him somewhere else while he still has value. |

So now that the Wild came out of nowhere and laid it down for the 2 biggest UFAs this year, what's next? |

They won't get it to Salvador - They'll have to pick another one in a few years. Kovalchuck is the obvious choice.

There is nothing I hate more than the love/hate fest my fellow fans do to all the Leaf players. Amazing how Schenn goes from the most untouchable player ever to the most tradable player ever. The same will happen to Gardiner. People just want to ship off Kulemin now after his off season, even though he was a favourite after his 30 goal season. |

exactly.
i think he will do well if hes on our 3rd line with second line PP time.
i was thinking something like kulemin-mcclemment-kadri.
kule can work hard and score (we've seen it) -both he and mcclemment are good 2 way players...kadri can work hard on his offensive side and if he lacks a bit in his d play *which i dont think is as bad as people say...they will be a good + - line...you'd think.
which leaves a lot of fire power for the top 2 lines still... JVR-gbov-mac |

I'm just going with what the Devils fans are chatting about...figure they know a heck of a lot more about the politics within that team then we do. |
