We now either totally overpay for Carle - $5.5-$5.75 for 5-6 years or are shut out and then overpay for the remaining scraps options that are still available

Detroit's culture, perennial competitiveness, organizational stability, players, coaching, holes in the lineup, and ample cap-space all work in their favor. For consummate pros and team-first guys like Parise and Suter, it would be a dream fit.

Guys who are UFA's are eligible for NTC/NMC's. So that wouldn't be a factor for Parise or Suter. I'd assume that both offers include no trade protection.
