Doughty had a poor year the season before last, and he struggled for the first half of the season last season. He credits John Stevens with getting his conditioning to a high level and making him realize his potential.

Who knows, maybe they end up with Weber by bypassing Carle and Jagr.

- Jsaquella

If Weber tells Polie to (frank) himself and sign a one year deal, let the bidding wars begin.

uuuuuhhhh, no, he would have been a fan favorite here.
I picture someone thinking twice about hitting Couter in his head if Prust were out there, (just another element to his game).

- puckhead17

2.5 for Prust is too much. He's a useful player, but he doesn't do many things well. PK, and blocking shots is about it.

we all know what happens when you piss up a rope, prob why Carle left. He dun peed his face and got maddur than all hell
- bigmookalookie

Well I didn't want Carle or Jagr back and they are both gone, so I'm happy about that. As far as the rest of what has gone on, nothing to get excited about, but still lots of time for things to happen.

That's the one problem. Nashville may be forced to trade him. That will be (frank)ing expensive, especially right after them losing Suter, and the way Poile seemed to take that.

I listened to his conference call and he sounded angry and wounded.

I wouldn't be amazed if the Habs didn;t try to use him a bit on the PP this year, too, as a big body on the second unit.

He doesn't have the Rags horseshoe up his ass anymore. The first shot he blocks in Montreal will probably fracture his leg in 4 places.

yeah, they were pissing acid in there posts on the Nashville boards

he should have thought about moving Suter 2 years ago instead of buying the "I like it here, I really do" - "no thank you anyway"

you know, I was going to say that, (as a screener & disturber), but I though I would get a "no way" "him on the PP"

but he's a unique player in that others his ilk can't play on the PK or aren't as versatile

From the way Poile sounded, he really felt that Suter was going to stay.

That's why I don't buy that "It was a hard decision to leave" BS from Parise or Suter. Their old teams offered them deals similar to the ones they took in Minnesota. It's not like the Wild outbid the Preds and Devils by $30mm or more. Preds said they offered Suter $90mm over 12 or 13 years.

I don't mind guys going to play with their buddies or cashing the buck, but don't do this BS "Calling Dave was the hardest thing I ever had to do" horse poop

Poile sounded like a guy who was in a tux, in front of a full church, and his wife to be called to say she ran off with his brother.

I think Suter really (frank)ed him over. Poile made a very competitive offer. Suter played him and left him at the altar.

Thats why poile should have moved him a year & a half ago, I know it's hindsight, but come on, he said he loved it there, but would not commit, after while you have to look down the road as a GM, more so than right now

yeah he sure did, Polie shouldnt act all that suprised. he better learn quick or he will be super (frank)ed after Weber leaves. Then Renne will find it on many nights that will be a bit more difficult to play goalie with the D in front of him

Wouldn't surprise me.

If it was THAT hard to leave, neither Parise or Suter would have left.

The thing that gets me is that the offer Nashville made was right there with what he signed for. Listening to Poile, he got played. But he really believed that Suter would honor his word.

I agree, but poile fuc&ed himself just as much, a good GM in a small market has to look 2-5 years ahead more so than a big market & he didn't do that
