That's what I'd like to see as well. I know people are against it but I'd give Doan his 4 years. If Jagr could leave the NHL for 3 years and still make an impact upon return I think Doan can maintain his level of play for at least another three years.

scandella played the best competition of any minn d last year and started most of his shifts in d zone and broke about even scoring chance-wise. not bad at all.

edit: and gilbert has been the same way for years. both get the matt carle treatment because they don't have any one thing about their game that really pops out.
