Nice, as long as he doesn't go to Philly I am fine with both Suter and Parise going to the Wild.
- TPC

I personally think that Parise signing with the Pens would have been the worst thing possible for the Rangers pursuit of Nash. I think Howson's would have been embolden to ask for a higher price, because the Rangers and Flyers may have felt more of a need to respond to Pittsburgh adding Parise, than if everything pretty much remains status quo.

Still, Pitt has a decent amount of money to spend, so they may still be a player either in the trade market, or with some remaining free agents.

Wow -- well good for Minnesota... Shame they're still not the North Stars!

Parise and Suter, not bad! Rather them then a team in the East!

I think this is the best possible scenario for the Rangers. The Devils have been weakened by this. The Pens didn't add Parise, which I personally thought was were he would sign. And the Flyers didn't add the defensemen that they needed.

I am assuming that the Flyers and Rangers will both be in on Nash still, but I think the pressure is less on both teams to land him, because the Pens haven't gottent significantly better (at least yet), and the Devils have been hurt.

Hopefully the Rangers can sign Doan, give some prospects a chance, look for a top 4 dman in trade.

Call it an offseason?

That might be the plan, maybe all this delay isnt necessarily on Nash, maybe Sather has faith in Miller, might not want to trade him and is really gonna go big on Doan for 2 years to be a mentor to Kreider and Miller. Few in the NHL could be better mentors for those 2.

I just don't see Doan leaving the 'Yotes unless that situation is so screwed up, that he no confidence they will stay there.

I still the Rangers land Nash, but who the hell knows.

I hope you are right on that. Make the the deal for a dee man on the right side and we should be ok. Always liked Doan. Got a edge to his game.

I wonder if the devils stability in the organization is really that bad to sway parise to the wild, oh well, good for him. Now all the sportswriters are like frank!, I gotta work on a holiday!

Who can we fleece from Minnesota, they're right against the cap, I say Bouchard or Setoguchi.

The Devils and Langenbrunner needed to move in a different direction. Did the Devils handle it in the best way, probably not, but every since Lemaire benched Langenbrunner to give him rest, Langenbrunner just seemed like he was grumpy. I don't think Langenbrunner liked Kovalchuk either.

A lot of reports said that Parise wasnt a big fan of the Kovalchuk trade. However, maybe it was a genius move on Lou's part because its possible that he had a hunch that Parise might leave when the contract was up and he didnt want to be left with no star player.

Well, Lou is very very tight lipped. You hardly ever hear any kind of leaks within that organization.
