would you trade Kaner for Brown straight up? - eburgio
With Parise on the roster already? YES. Another situation I'd drive Kaner - and his cuz - to the airport, with a cooler filled with beer inside, in my '96 Impala, and unload their bags at terminal 1. |

Would be a tough pill to swallow. But i would not do it. Kane is a hell of a player and is a better offensive threat. But Brown is the captain. Hes a physical force. Kane is the kind of player I want on a line with him. I know Kane is worth more and has higher value. Its just me. Need the character in Brown. - poisondhearts37
that's fair. well thought out response. if the hawks were to secure the wonder twins (parise/suter) i think that would be a move that would fall in line w/the new hawks identity. i would take brown in a heartbeat |

Hammer - Frolik - Stalberg done
If Stanbow has shown anything it is that he can dump salary and create CBA circumventing deals that fit in. Parise's deal averages 7.5 --- Suters averages 6.5 and bing bang boom hello Stanley Cup how are you doing today
And if Hossa on LTIR doesnt matter
And I would move Sharp for picks way before I move Kane - fattybeef
Ok well. Sharp can't be traded cause he's got a No Trade. Stalberg makes less than $1MM, so dumping him actually doesn't help. Who's going to take Frolik? Unless you are saying Rocky will dump him in Rockford too. If Parise is getting a $14MM signing bonus, that bonus is still spread out across the life of the contract so I GUARANTEE his cap hit will still be above $8MM unless he signs like a 20 year deal which will then be nixed by the NHL like Kovalchuks.
If Hossa is on LTIR, then yes it could work. But if he gets healthy, you couldn't play him cause you'd be over the cap.
Do people REALLY think the Hawks can be cap compliant with Suter, Parise, AND Kane on one team?? |

Bickell makes the league minimum. Sticking him in the minors and replacing his spot with anyone else in the entire league would not improve the cap space, only make it worse. - coldsteelonice

there's one caveat...Kaner and his cousin want more than a 30pk of PBR or HIgh Life that you bought at Meijer. Are you willing to step up to Rolling Rock? Maybe Bud Light Platinum? |

If there is such a thing as an untouchable in the league right now, after this past year's performance, it would have to be Quick. Why are we even talking about this? - Sundevil
You know I did premise my last statement with "hypothetical".... besides it's fun to talk about this stuff, passing the time waiting for a decision.
Besides it's over 90 outside here in Branson, I'm on a boat on Table Rock Lake, hoping to God we don't wander out of cell coverage, having a beer and watching some spectacular skiing wipeouts... |

I wish people would quit saying this. Sharp CAN be traded...the NTC does not lock him into Chicago forever. Does it make it harder to trade him, sure...but he CAN be traded. |

Twitter is drastically more quiet than yesterday with no Parise announcement date (as yesterday was supposed to be).
I do hope it's soon so the rest of FA can get moving. |

Actually the numbers would work if you added Parise and Suter for about $14-15 mil total and eliminated Frolik and Hammer (Parise and Suter would replace them on the roster), send Montador down or away and add a player making the minimum to replace him and you'd have a roster of 23 with $1 mil or so to spare. All good.

Tallest US bldg, >150 year-old water tower.
Best pizza (real pizza), beef sammiches and hot dogs.
Less bodies floating in less toxic waters.
Lake shores you can actually go in most days of the year.
and... not named the garden state because you can't fit "petrochemical and refinery state" on a license plate... - blackhawk24
While you are slagging Jersey don't forget Chicago's pollution levels. It isn't exactly a clean city.

Hey, if they want Sam Adams... I got 4-5 flavours of that too: Today it's Cherry Wheat.
If they want Guinness Draught....hey got a KILLER deal on that at Woodman's. 24-pk of 14.9oz cans for less than $18. Literally backed up the truck on that one...! |

He also just bought a house and got pretty settled. Don't think he's going anywhere. You are right, he CAN be traded but it's improbable. |

Is it inconceivable to just ship Montador, Olesz and Frolik off for mid-round draft picks? With the Hawks losing their 2nd and 3rd for next season, is it that unlikely they could move those dudes for 3rd or 4th rounders? Hell, John Scott netted a 5th (btw...I still think Stan had naked photos of Glen Sather and a minor to pull that off) |

I don't mind the Cherry Wheat. I bought a 12'er of Sam Summer Ale last year and it tasted like a Ham and Cheese sandwich. Pretty nasty. So I called and complained and they sent me a check for $18. I think I bought the 12'er for like 12+tax and CRV. Jim Koch is a smug little man, but I appreciated him making me whole. |

I think that Montador and Frolik are both tradeable. Olesz i feel is impossible to move. |

I was in Maine 2 weeks ago and tried a local beer called Gritty McDuff's Red Claw Ale.. The picture of the lobster shaking his fist on the label sold me. |
