The one thing the Hawks have going for them is they are apparently as tight lipped about this stuff as we all thought.. No one knows whats going on in Chicago.
However, I feel we are going to be left out in the cold.. But I would be just as happy with Bowman targeting Evander Kane in a trade or going after Doan and/or Bouwmeester. - pri$ey
I'm just worried that if they strike out here they give up on the whole "swing for the fences". Maybe they just stick with tweeking the roster which would be really really bad. |

I think If Bobby Hull personally called Parise and said
"Hey kid, come to Chicago , you can still wear #9, we want you here."
That would be awesome. |

If Suter is going to Minny, so is Parise.. - pri$ey
This is true. There is no way Suter goes to Minny and Parise doesn't.

Since it was mentioned earler that the Flyers are probably out, this means that more than likely it's MINN. Unless DET or the 'Hawks made a push we don't know about.

Listen to Parise in exc' interview with @JoshRimerHockey. U now get strong sense that unexpected delay may be he/Suter wanting play 2gether |

AT least we know for sure that the Blackhawks made a combo offer to them both. I would hope that if the HAwks new they were out of it they would be looking elsewhere by now. |

I think it is safe to say they struck out...Inknow this is all only speculation and insider info from unnamed sources, but too much talking going on about other teams, and not much about the Hawks...unfortunately for the fans this is gonna hurt, big time...Looks like another first round exit unfortunately,I just don't think Stan is good enough of a GM to pull of a trade or two that would vastly improve this team, too in love with his damn prospects...I want new management in place, not these boneheads(Stan,Scotty,McD..etc) |

I'm skeptically optimistic because NO ONE had the 'Hawks in on Parise until the last minute. The chances are dwindling but we should be finding out today so I'll just keep my fingers crossed until then.
It's just too bad I'll be on the lake with spotty reception.
Maybe they'll announce before I leave at 3. |

It's no wonder why Minnesota wants them both. They play a defensive style game that Parise and Suter already know.
Would be interesting to see what Parise could have done on an offensive team. |

I'm shocked they even got into to this. At least they tried and aside from Suter and Parise wanting to play close to home being one of the determining factors I wonder if the front office dysfunction of the Hawks hurts their chances of signing one or both of these guys. |

Not the end of the world if they strike out on both guys. Nice players but there is a point in negotiations where your last offer is your best offer and you can't do any better.
By compparison, Toews, Kane, Sharp, Hossa, Seabs and Keith look very cheap and are locked up for a considerable amount of time. Nash is still out there as is Ryan. The focus needs to be on improving the real areas of weakness - the net and adding another good if unspectacular defenceman. |

Hasnt everyone in Hawks management and all the beat reporters said that Kaner will not be traded and that he will be on the opening night roster - hawkshossa81
Sure they have, but statements like that & pretty much anything else they said goes right out the window when the topic of signing the top 2 UFA's comes up. |

Lately, I've said this every day...
...if Suter chooses Detroit, or Pitt, or Philly for that matter, the idea he wants to be near Madison is bunk. Motown is slightly closer than Nashville to the family farm.
And don't forget, Detroit lost Brian Rafalski after last year, then Lidstrom this year...big names to replace.
If Detroit gets their man, I hope realignment puts them in the east...
F 'em!! - ArlingtonRob
And I've said this before:
If Suter goes to Detroit, SHAME SHAME SHAME on the Hawks - on Bowman AND MOSTLY on Rocky. |

This for sure, but still want Rocky to do a complete investigation of why they didn't come here - especially if Detroit is involved - and make appropriate changes, if necessary. |
