Finished the first, watched the show and was pleased they stayed pretty much to what was written, unlike Trublood ....

I've enjoyed them both...haven't read the books.

I follow Trueblood entirely for the crazy ride.

Detroit is absolutely desperate for Suter...after they lost their marquee D-man. The chartered flights (w/ Cheli) seem to prove it. The Wings could be the ones slowing down this whole process.

Detroit's a good hockey town, but there's no comparison between the two cities, IMO. I'd chose Chicago's burbs over Detroit's any day.

- grinder10

Lately, I've said this every day...

...if Suter chooses Detroit, or Pitt, or Philly for that matter, the idea he wants to be near Madison is bunk. Motown is slightly closer than Nashville to the family farm.

And don't forget, Detroit lost Brian Rafalski after last year, then Lidstrom this year...big names to replace.

If Detroit gets their man, I hope realignment puts them in the east...

Pretty funny reading some of these tweets people pick out there. I could do some guessing as well and maybe be right once in a blue moon. Its just all hype and crap untill these two Hockey players who seem to have man love for one another put thier name on the dotted line. Yes Detroit is despriate and NEEDS Suter in a bad way, I think if Suter watches an episode of Hard core pawn he will run from Detroit. I think when the smoke clears Suter will chose the Madhouse on maddison. Parise............I think he goes to the Wild, he will be able to be the MAN there as reported that he wants to be. Either way the Blackhawks STILL need a second line center.

Hey guys,

Don't post much but I am always reading.

Unfortunately, I haven't had much time to read about other teams and their situations. I do remember hearing that there was some sort of problem between Dustin Brown and Mike Richards, and Richards attempting to make that his team?

Does anyone know if this is true, or still true? Or if the Kings are looking to move Brown? I've been going crazy just like everyone else, and playing on cap geek, and came up w/ a proposal.

Brown
Bernier

Kane
Hammer
Bickell
Insert Prospect
1st round pick

Do you think that would entice Lombardi?

Bernier has asked to be traded since they re-upped Quick, so it solves that problem. It might solve any problem that there is between richards and brown (if there is one). They get someone that can feed Kopitar or Richards, as well as strengthen an already pretty damn good defense. They replace a bit of the "toughness" in the project that is Brian Bickell.

I know it seems like we would be overpaying. However, this is one of the things I would be looking at if I were the Hawks GM. And I would definitely pull the trigger if we landed Parise AND Suter.

Fact of the matter is this team needs a shake up, and Stan should try to do it in anyway possible.

I think Kane +Pick/prospect+ >= Brown and Bernier in trade value easily. Factor in Emery because they'll need a backup and we'll have 3 NHL contracts. But I agree with you that I would do that if you can land Parise. Maybe even sign Doan if we miss out on RS.

Not likely but I'd love that dude, could even play w/ Suter. Some of the salary dumps are just buried in Rockford. Still need a better 2C and 4C in my opinion. I was thinking Wellwood from the Jets, however, he isn't very physical, and he didn't take a lot of faceoffs last year if I remember correctly. However, Slater from the Jets would be an awesome pickup in my opinion. That 4th line could be very tough to play against. Although, I'd still like to replace Bollig

Last thing for tonight, #Kings asking price for Jonathan Bernier, highly touted prospect + pick..a little steep for most teams at this point -- C.B. (@NHLSourcesSay)

I still think CB is legit. He called Jagr to Dallas well before it went down yesterday. We'll see about the huge hole he dug himself into with Parise in Pittsburgh, Suter in Detroit. That said Andy Strickland did specifically back CB on Parise which speaks volumes imo.

The return here for Bernier sounds a lot like Lombardi... he really covets Bernier (flyers have tried to get him for a couple seasons.... to no avail).

As long as we don´t know, we can dream can´t we? So just for the fun of it:

- trade with Buffalo; Kane and Crawford for Miller and 1st round pick´13
- trade with Washington; Emery, Frolik and Hjalmarsson for Michal Neuvirth and 2nd round pick´13
- sing Parise and Suter

Kane for Ryan? Doesn't do it for me...You aren't adding anything imo...at the same time you add Ryan as a power forward, you lose Kane who is a great passer etc..I really don't think that trade would improve the Hawks, you pretty much break even...sucks about Parise and Suter...this team and it's management are a joke..sucks for us fans

We were out then back in. Suter's reps called after Chicago bowed out, the reps wanted Chicago back in because the proximity to Wisconsin and the strong ties to Chicago. The Suter family apparently wants him here. My worry is the agent called the Blackhawks back in to get more money out of Detroit.

It would be great to have him here and Parise for that matter. But the way this off season is going with all the money being thrown around, I think I will lower my expectations to not getting anyone this way I don't get the "OMFG what are we going to do now!" blues. Probably even skip the forums all together if we don't get anyone either.

This place will be a hell hole of disgust.

I agree. Much better fit and I have doubts Ryan signs with any club other than the flyers when his contract is up in three seasons. I can't think of anyone who wants to be a flyer more than him.

The one thing the Hawks have going for them is they are apparently as tight lipped about this stuff as we all thought.. No one knows whats going on in Chicago.

However, I feel we are going to be left out in the cold.. But I would be just as happy with Bowman targeting Evander Kane in a trade or going after Doan and/or Bouwmeester.
