Yea I know , but ARE they even as good as the Hawks, Kings , Pres, Wings , PHX , or St. L with these 2 guys ?? Prbably not
- mrpaulish

Not right now but they are going to be very good very quickly. They have arguably the best prospect pool in hockey along with the Panthers. Granlund, Coyle, Larsson, and Brodin. Eek, won't be long until we are hearing a lot from the Wild.

Stan is swingin' like Adam Dunn...home run or strikeout?
At least now we know he's not afraid to swing when push comes to shove...maybe this will get him to come out of his shell as a GM a little and be more aggressive. Of course, if he loses out on both, he could go the other way...that would be fun .

And if realignment finally goes thru...the Hawks will be seeing a lot more of the Wild.

Which is a good thing as far as I'm concerned. Minnesota and Chicago should be in the same division. Just like MLB and NFL...

I recommend the new Schlitz...it's nothing at all like the crap Schlitz of the 70's.

Can be somewhat hard to find, but more places are carrying it.

Hey all....

I come as a refugee from the team's official site. As a long time poster there I quite frankly got fed up with the overwhelming negativity there. A lot of it tied to how folks feel about the current GM Stan Bowman.

I was labeled as a Bowman apologist there, and I'm sure there are many here who will read my opinions and agree, that's fine. The reality is, my take was that SB was in a tough situation, given where the team was at after winning the Cup. For all the Tallon love expressed, it's too easy to forget what the verdict would have been if Kane had not scored that glorious OT Cup winner. Not so much " all hail Dale" if the team is skating through the final handshake with heads hanging. And a cap nightmare for a booby prize.

But to digress no further ....here's the funny thing.....Many hear are ready to "forgive" Stan if he lands one or (gasp) both of the twin baubles. To me, it's ironic, because if the Hawks can put them in the Indian Head, Stan Bowman really didn't have a whole lot to do with it. The kudos should rightfully belong to arm that can reach into a deep pocket. The arm of Rock Wirtz.

If it happens.....joy upon joy, and rightfully so. Now Stan has to find a way to clear space and make decisions that make sense andwill mare it all work.

Interesting past few days. Looking forward to discussing it with this group. Have a safe and happy Independence Day.

Welcome! Not sure if everyone here will forgive Stan but at least we know he is trying. Yes, it's Rocky's $ but Stan does have to sell the deal. Nothing sold yet. We again have to wait and see.

Welcome...

I suppose I would agree with your assessment of this FA period. Regarding FA's, SB is the messenger for RW...GM's speak for ownership and present the offers, but they also need to sell the team, town, opportunities beyond hockey ect.

Where GM's really earn their keep...the ability to acquire talent via trade and the draft, and so far the jury is out on both.

Right now, I'm hoping for at least one big fish in free agency...then I'll worry about the rest.

Ditto that! @JoshYohe_Trib I've been told that if the Pens do acquire Ryan Suter, look for Paul Martin to be traded to Nashville. -- John Boruk (@JohnBorukCSN)

Dont disagree with post but rocky hired stan so either way it goes rocky is ultimately responsible for the team.
Rocky's decisions also effect his bottom line so he is plenty vested

I want them to trade Oduya instead. To me he is the odd man out unless leddy is traded or goes to rockford
