My guess is Suter has picked Chicago but the Hawks told him he gets X amount if Parise signs and Y amount if he doesn't...so he is waiting to see if he gets X or Y.

I think it was an 11th hour plea, 10 million shekles extra and a personal plea from the GM.

We will see where his values lie.

Would be a real loss of face to lose out to your rival without bringing out the big guns. IMO

Dowtown Chicago is one of the safer places I have ever been. Random violence doesn't occur on a consistent basis. If you go to areas that are known for it, that's where you find trouble. That's a really asinine comment for the Canuck doosh to make, but par for the course I suppose.

I know I'm gonna get beat down for this, but the NHLPA isn't thinking just about Torres. They're thinking about the next guy, and the next, guy and the guy after that. I think Torres is a (frank)ing scumbag who deserves to be kicked out of the league for a multitude of sins, but the NHL has shown no consistency with the way they hand out suspensions. And to be honest, what they should be trying to do during negotiations is standardize the suspension system. This is something the NHLPA should want.

I love Hossa's game and think he is everything Torres is NOT both on and off the ice, but the league needs some consistency here.

Oh, yeah, and Bettman is a clown.
