Keep hearing that a number of teams would like to have Paul Martin in their lineup. What matters most is the Penguins still are one of them.

maybe ANA is one of them

i really think if stl is one of them then we can get oshie. the blues are trying hard after carle or any top 4 defender and will most likely not get anyone. if they have any interest in martin then shero can work a deal. the blues have plenty of offensive propsects with rattie, tarasenko, and schwartz to fill in oshies roll

I'd take Oshie and if he's not available, Stewart.

honestly, yeah id take him but i have never been as enamored with oshie as some have been. i wouldnt want to move any of our big prospects from him. i really have never seen anything from him that blew me away, and he has seemed like a little brat. moving martin is one thing, but despres is another

look at next years free agents. iginla, getzlaf, perry, backstrom, zajac, horton, weiss, and a few others. think the pens could pry away getzlaf from the ducks?

What would we need with another center? Perry or Igninla would be the more obvious choice

id have to disagree. i follow the blues very much and blog for them on a sports site and oshie is a solid player. he literally is a cheaper parise with a little less skill, but still very good. the only thing is the blues dont have any good D prospects who could be anything past a 4th D man. i feel perron is out of the question in trades, but itd take a top 4 d player, a d prospect who has potential for a top 4 spot, and maybe another forward.

martin, despres, t.k for oshie. thatd be tough because martin has much value ever since michalek left and despres is the most ready out of all our d prospects, but oshie with crosby could be deadly.

That sounds like a lot for Oshie... I would offer Martin, TK or Tangradi plus a pick and that would be about it

For those asking, Packaging Kennedy/Martin/Tangradi together doesn't get you good return. If you don't want them, neither do they.

you may be able to exchange despres for a 1st or 2nd, but im just trying to make it sound reasonable and by helping both teams. vladimir tarasenko for the blues looks very good and ty rattie tore up juniors, so who knows what will happen

LOL ... are you a former Edmonton Oiler fan? God knows this is the type of crap deal they come up with. Fragile player that lacks production (Hemsky) or underachiever (Gagner) along with broken confidence man (MPV) and a third rounder or prospect that can't make it in the ECHL (Martindale) for young promising player that has done something.

A combo of Martin, TK or Tangradi plus a pick (I'm assuming a third) doesn't get you much. Crappy contract, average player or failed prospect and a pick doesn't land quality.

Martin and Despres for Eberle...
- Ben37

We need to add more ... a fourth rounder and pick your failed prospect who can't do anything at the ECHL level. Edmonton fans would think that along with Martin would be enough to land a quality player considering all their hairbrained ideas. The only difference, I'm joking ... those retards aren't.

I get that... but that is what I would give up, I would move Harrington before Despres.... but I wouldn't sell the farm for Oshie, thats the point I was trying to make

Go ahead and laugh at me, been a pens fan all 25 years I have been alive... The point I was making is that I wouldn't sell the farm for Oshie is all. I understand that wouldn't be enough to get it done.

Hey, I agree not to sell the farm on Oshie. That said, I hate it when people come up with the most ludicrous ideas offering crap for a pretty decent player. Save those ideas for Toronto or Edmonton fans. They look like idiots all the time.

Can someone please tell me how this team is better than last year? Please don't say Doan, for Doan does not equal Staal. The only thing that could salvage this off-season would be a Bobby Ryan trade, and I'm not seeing it.

Why don't you wait until training camp before rendering judgment. I think there are two or three moves that will be made.

Fair enough, the proposal was meant to be taken with a grain of salt, but I will just refrain next time.

Pens will be fine... they got a great group and the top 2 players in the world.

Parise was a nice luxury, but I would not overlook Neal... I love what he brings to Pittsburgh. Suter not coming to Det hurts, but Holland has money and cap space so im sure he will try to add depth vs star power to fill gaps.

Honestly,
I don't know how that d core in Minney is going to fair. They will score more for sure, but stoppin' em aint so sure yet.

Lol... I can judge from what I see. So far we have Sutter for Staal. We lose. Not jumping off the bridge or anything, but there is nothing to be happy about with this situation. Nothing at all.

If you move Martin no way we'll move Despres. We need him. The guy is ready.

Call me crazy but I'd rather trade maybe Pouliot instead of Harrington (maybe that's a strech). He just sounds like a real solid prospect.
