No doubt, Sullivan signed 2 hours too fast.
So they both went to Minnesota... Head scratcher... Can't wait to see the terms. - canadianpenfan
For $1.85 (or even $2), Sullivan would have been a good fit here for another year. Hell, it isn't like there are cap concerns. Based on the statement from his agent, ("can only wait so long"), it sounds like he wanted an offer from the Pens and probably would have taken it for similar money.

for us god no. missing parise sucks but it is what it is. giving matt carle the contract he is going to receive is insane. we do not need 2 paul martins - stayinthefnnet
I think that would signify a new apocolypse. |

True but I have a feeling that cap space will be needed yet. |

Minnesota is about to find out who really made the weber/suter pairing so good. Hint, it wasnt suter lol
Also sucks to see someone like parise play what was likely their last nhl playoff game for a few years as well. Kid was entertaining in these playoffs. Until minny cleans out the the 10 or so garbage players they have anyways. |

I do too, but with $12 mil in space, whoever they might be able to trade for isn't going to eat up all of it (at least I can't imagine who RS brings in that would). |

Well.....thanks for wasting our time.....guy chose the money instead of playoffs and cups. (even though I think Minny will be a playoff contender) - Orpik44

you are definitely right there. he is now one of the few "prizes" left available. god we knew this crop was bad, but now that the big 2 are gone it is really easy to see how pathetic it is |

the thing is with minny even if they kept one of zidlicky or burns, then suter could have done well. so they are gonna pair suter up with gilbert? Hopefully minny is smart and doesnt put heatley with parise and koivu |

As much as this sucks for the Pens, it sucks more for Detroit. My prediction is they sign Carle and Semin in the next couple hours for way too much. |

I'm glad the pens don't get hooked on parise till he's 40... Blessing in disguise
Trade market will have to be explored if they don't get Doan
That being said insiderr guy just lost whatever cred he had |

(This is not a shot at you...just a question for you an any of the others who want to chime in)
What's the fascination with Setoguchi? - akane13
No fascination. I was merely looking at Minnesota's roster for players they might be willing to dump for salary that could help us. Concluded on him because Koivu's not going anywhere, Clutterbuck is relatively inexpensive, and I don't want Heatley. This was more of a plan B proposal that wouldn't completely deplete our prospect depth (i.e. Nash or Ryan). |

Stay patient Pens fans. We tried, it didn't work, still trade options out there. |

i have a feeling with all this cap space, shero doesnt want to sign doan to only 2-3 years. hes going to want a winger around parises age or younger who they can stick with the team for a while at a decent cap hit. someone similar to neal, oshie, ryan, etc... |

I would love to see the Pens make a big push for Ryan. I know its going to take a good deal, but to get you have to give. |
