Gonna be a big day in Minnesota, that is my guess.

Happy 4th to everyone.

Wouldn't upset me. Signing Parise is a luxury not a necessity. Would love to have him but won't shed a tear if he opps to stay in NJ or head home to Minny.

Well if he signs in Minny it tells me he cares more about money than he does about winning, and if that's the case I can think of better ways to spend 100 million.

Well, that's just lovely. RT @SHEEHYHOCKEY Client Ryan Suter plans on making a decision today.

Would love to see Doan, but have to agree with Gunner that most likely Sullivan will be back

Shane Doan. I think no moves will be made on defense. Martin stays. Suter or bust. I wouldn't pay the ridiculous amount that Carle is going to get after Suter signs. The only other option, Carlo Coliacovo and his fragility.

There once was a player named Parise,
Picking his next team made him feel uneasy,
He took his sweet time to make up his mind,
Leaving Pens fans feeling queasy.

Sullivan signed there? hmmm

Edit: @JoshYohe_Trib

Sullivan to Phoenix isn't a done deal yet, but should be done later today. Will be a one-year deal.

Sullivan agent Steve Bartlett on waiting for Pens/Parise: "We had to move on at some point. Can't wait forever."

Yes it Is. Who cares they both go to a team that will have little effect on the Pens and will not be all that good. Not bitter at all here. Just excited for the offseason to move on and see what Shero does now.

This is just an idea.. What about Daniel Winnik to play 3rd line minutes and give TK a shot in the top 6 with Sid
- kfinl170

Who knows what happens but I'm guessing that Doan gets a call. Then I think the trade market will be explored. Team is taking a step backwards if TK is on the #1 line. To be honest I would rather see Dustin Jeffrey who Bylsma hates. Neither sound like very good options.

Yeah I hated my suggestion 2 seconds after posting it. They will need to get a little creative I think. But in no way are we in bad shape with Sid, Geno, and Neal leading the way.

The thing to remember here is that there is roster flexibility and potential options via trade route. although losing Sullivan probably killed one of Sheros backup plans.

What do you think some realistic options might be aside from the big names floating out there?

Only players out of FA I can think of now is Doan and mueller, and I think that's more of a stretch than parise was. No doubt about it, Shero will be making trades to fill in that cap space before training camp

I think if Parise chooses Minny, a lot of people saw it coming, but if Suter goes to minny... Why!? Detroit is a crappy place but still a hell of a team.

The penguins have excellent d prospects to deal. I think if the Pens go into the season without a significant aquisition that the Iginla rumors will flare up as season moves on. This time they wouldn't be as far fetched as the situation with the Penguins has changed.

Bobby Ryan would be my choice, unsure if there is a fit there though.
