they're stupid to look for pa parenteau. i don't care where he's from, pa parenteau is not a good player.

how many really good quebecers are truly available for trade?

and of those, how many would be willing to play here?

Not to mention the asking price would be higher and the team would be no further ahead.

I didn't want the habs to overpay for PA Parenteau but that's a ridiculous statement

I'm mostly talking about drafting.

When you have a Claude Giroux in your backyard, you can't let someone else have him.

i am sure timmins is hating himself for that. but so are 20 other teams that didn't take giroux either. but you're right, should have scouted players in our own backyard.

yeah but high cap hit. 7.5 for heatley.

and 4.5 for pmbouchard who is always injured.

- Apples

Bof, two years of Healtey, one more of Bouchard at 4.08 and Cullen at 3.5. Short term they're ok.

That will sting for years, but they seem to be taking a step in the right direction in terms of scouting.

And their top prospects will be on entry level deals. They made the most of their available cap space and shouldn't be crippled moving forward.

*so much for Gomez helping the Wild reach the cap floor*

IMO, he was the key piece in the Burns-Setoguchi trade.
Zach Phillips is a nice bonus.

The deal breaker indeed, Minny's got a window of opportunity to make a cup run in the next couple years.

no they're good for 13 years. they have probably the best prospect pool in the nhl. or very close to it.
