I'm basically saying Kane would be worth going through the trouble of acquiring him and giving him a couple years to shake off his jinx whereas Bourque is essentially a plug and isnt worth the organisation's time.

Where did I say Bergevin should give the farm and 3 1st rounders for Kane? I only said that right now, his value is at an all-time low, so MAYBE he could be on the market for less than his real worth. We just never know.

This is where the gullibility of the Fefan comes in.

Why would the Habs give up anything for anyone at this point?

Keep the picks, develop the prospects then see what you have and what you might need in a few years.

Otherwise, you end up in the same poophole scenario the Leafs are in right now.

Depends on the package. Eller and Beaulieu would be a start.

And I don't consider Kane as a short term plan, he's 21.

And you're the biggest (frank)ing whiner in here, so GFY with your fefans stories.

- _nay_

Unless they get Parise, i don't see how the Hawks could afford to trade Kane though. Also, they will ask for a lot more than Eller and Beaulieu. Better keep going this year with this line-up and give time to the kids to develop. Looking forward the pre-season, Gallagher could surprise..

Burke- Jay McClement is a good two way center who can win faceoffs and be out on the ice in the last minute of the game.

Take out Eller and add Patches, throw in at least a 1st.

And maybe you can start the negotiations.

My 2 cents on Kane

Great player, would love him in MTL

BUT

Too early in the rebuilding process, Habs are finally building a good prospect pool, why empty already for one player. Rebuilding properly takes time and patience.

You are completely out of your mind.

Patch + 1st has much more value than Kane.

Not sure but i am honestly wondering of Burke has gone the way of the Gainey after that description of the player.

Could look like this. I prefer keeping Patches and that 1st. As for Beaulieu, don't really care. Saw him at the Memorial cup and he really didn't impress me. Tinordi on the other side was very good, he is much more mobile and keep filling his gigantic frame

Nah, he has a point. But I agree with JDJ and you here.
Kane would still cost too much for such a risky case.

I did not say I would trade him for that, I said that Patches, Beaulieu and a 1st is what the Hawks would start with.

It is a stupid idea to trade for Kane, not even sure why I started replying to this stupidity.

That's ok. Sometimes you need to fall really far before you can start the climb to renewed success. This draft was a good start.
- hscesq

Yes, the Habs did pretty well this draft. Before you start climbing the hill though, you gotta get yourself out of the ditch you're in.

He makes the team better of course he does. But at what cost? More then Eller and Beaulieu for sure. They will want way more, and why shouldn't they? I agree what everything Symba just said, stay the (frank)ing course with the prospects and picks, for the next few years, and then see what you have, then get the player/players you need to put you over the top then, now it is still a guessing game on who will work out and who doesn't, why overpay to race for 8th place a la TO and Calgary every year.
