You do it manually.

plus, he was 35 when I signed him as a free agent.

I was being sarcastic, in light of the fact that the game let you assemble an all-star team... Datsyuk on LW would be the least of the wierdness.

Disagree.

With the emergence of Gardiner, Liles could be moved. Komisarek leaving would be a bonus to the defense.. and the part of trading Schenn that worries me is more ice-time for Captain HandGrenade - Komisarek.

If the Leafs moved Komisarek - Holzer steps right in, which is a total Win-Win.

If Liles was was moved, the left side of the defense would be Gunnarson, Gardiner and Lashoff or Mark Fraser. Or Phaneuf moves to the left and makes space for Blacker.

There are options.

And please don't anyone spew the stuff about leadership and experience. The defense has been unstable with the experience of Komisarek, Beauchemin, Liles etc in it. The younger guys won't don't much if any worse.

- BorjeFan4Ever

Phaneuf can't play the left side........ I know they've played him there, but he is a huge defensive liability on the left side

Logged in and realized the controls were gone. Makes sense. I'm here the least out of the 4.

So have we traded Komisarek and Kadri for Crosby and three 1sts yet?

When does that go down?

I've gone through line-up combos and I just don't see a spot for MacArthur, Lombardi or Connolly. They are all far too soft.
Lupul-Bozak-Kessel
JVR-Grabovski-Kulemin
Frattin-McClement-Kadri
Ashton-Steckel-Brown

- Barx

Nice lineup, but a little off. Burke was quoted as saying that he sees D'Amigo as potentially taking Colby's spot, and that's partly why he was bought out.

Lupul - Bozak - Kessel
JVR - Grabo - Kadri
Kulemin - McClement - Frattin
D'Amigo - Steckel - Komarov

that leaves
Ashton
Brown
Lombardi
Connolly

you are correct.

I'm expecting that they will most likely be traded or waived.

I like that 4th line though.

D'Amigo, Steckel, Komarov.

Could prove to be a real gritty line.

I really like the idea of sending Lombo to the Marlies. That'd be awesome, and He'd serve as an ideal replacement for Zigomanis as a top6 C with Colborne.

He averaged over 23 minutes a game last year for the Flyers.

I'm not going to lie to you - I just threw the idea out there a minute ago without much thought.

But now I'm starting to think it isn't such a bad idea.

Thing is, the Leafs have a huge amount of cap room - especially starting next year, when basically half the team's contracts end.

$5 million per year for a guy who lead the Flyers in ice time last year - does that sound so crazy?

Phaneuf - Carle
Liles - Gunnarson
Gardiner - Franson/rookie/whomever

That doesn't sound so bad, actually.

- Atomic Wedgie

Now that you mention it, it doesn't sound too bad.

But I'd still rather throw huge money at Suter. If Carle is going to cost you 5 million per year, you may as well make it 7.5-8 and get an elite d-man.

Carle would not be a bad consolation prize, however.

He averaged 23 mins on a Flyers defense that was below average, at best.

nope, but as I said in my previous post, he just doesn't have a place on the team.
