Don't get me wrong I love Ott he's fun to watch, he's a great agitator and a good guy. But he's not going to set the world on fire offensively. There is a good chance Garbutt can be a solid replacement; he brings plenty of grit.

If Roy works out half as well as Ribs did I think we'll be fine. Most people couldn't wait to see Mike out of Montreal and he worked out pretty well.

I hate to see Ott go but this team needs a change. Anyone that suggests Buff flat out won this deal isn't seeing the whole picture.

I agree really all hes done is give up players for some picks. Still cant beleive he let Modano go.

We traded Neal for Goligoski, at the time we had plenty of forwards and more of a need for a puck moving Dman. Neal was pretty inconsistent and streaky prior to last year I'd expect him to come back to earth some.

I hated to see Mo go more than most, but both Mo and the organization wanted that break up, it's not like Mo had a tremendous year in Det, maybe he should have just hung them up?

I'd bet Modano questioned clinging to his career more than once in that last year with Detroit. Luckily for us in Ottawa, a similar situation won't arise with Alfie. He's pretty much deciding whether to hang em up or not. He won't end up elsewhere.

In regards to the Neal/Goligoski deal, I think a lot of people think the Pens fleeced the Stars based on the points Neal puts up now but one has to consider that Dallas doesn't have Malkin (so his numbers are inflated) and they needed a Goligoski more than a Neal at the time of the deal.

I would make the argument that Niskanen has played just as good as Goligoski.

I'm sure you could try, but all I'm saying is that Goligoski has done what they wanted. He's their offensive go to guy, put up a respectable 30 points on the Stars roster, both leading his team in blue line scoring and helping to get the puck moving out of the zone. Niskanen is in a cluster of D on the Pens that has him 4 points ahead of Engelland and probably more insulated than Goligoski. The offense that the Pens boast has a lot of gimme ponts and even Goligoski cashed in on it before he left. I guess its hard to complain when both teams seem happy with thier return.

In a Dallas uniform Goligoski is a vast improvement over Niskanen.
Nisky should play better in Pittsburgh he's got a ton more talent around him.

Goligoski was also out for some time with an injury last year. He got hurt in the game against Pitt and that started our first rough patch of the year. He had some very good moments prior to that injury. If he can stay healthy I think he will get better.

I'm not saying we won that trade, Neal blew up, but we did fill a need.

You don't need to outright win a trade to be happy with the outcome. How guys do elsewhere shouldn’t be of any consequence to how it effected your team. Stars addressed a need and traded an asset to get it.

Horrible move for Dallas and a great pickup for Buffalo.

Buffalo just found the guy that will keep the other team in check if they try to run over Miller again.

Dallas has become as soft as Edmonton. They should probably look towards signing Doan to make up for that lost grit.

I'm thrilled he is out of WNY and I won't have to hear about him anymore and I don't even like the Sabres.

You know you love the Sabres...
