Never can tell with Darcy. - SABRES 89
That would be a good move by darcy...saying he is in on Nash, get ANA to think about his offer a little more in depth for Ryan? Psychological move |

Just a few ideas that I could see...
Rumor has it that STL is looking for defensive help.. whether it be offensive or defensive minded.. IDK..
Sekera or Leopold.. maybe a mid pick or something for RFA Chris Stewart.
Sekera/Leopold, and Adam/Catenacci for Sam Gagner
Some how I think Nick Foligno could still be in the fold...
This is in addition to Bobby Ryan rumors..
I still think strongly that SJ will shake things up without Nash there.. Thornton/Marleau could be on the block.
Semin is a last resort IMO.
Thoughts? |

I think so too... i think that Brodeur chirping in his ear about coming back to NJ is weighing on him...
Maybe Parise surprises the sh!t out of everyone and signs a 2-3 year deal in NJ..? |

I hope he doesn't come to Pittsburgh to be honest. It's just stupid money. Short term it would be terrific. Long term it's extremely poor risk reward management. Parise is a hustler grinder kind of star player, he won't be the same in his late 30's while carrying that 8M/yr cap hit.
Furthermore if Parise keeps stalling i hope Shero pulls the deal and moves towards the trade route. |

So who are your choices as of now?
I think im going Myers and Ehrhoff/Regier - CaptPantalones

I thought just a few days ago you were drooling into a puddle on the group for him to come to Pitt??
I agree with you.. I have the same opinion today that you do knowing his demands.. I think it is fantastic that all the GMs are basically saying "no bring down your demands" I really thought someone would just outbid until he signed.
I just want Parise to go to the WC. |

As a hockey fan, I'd rather him stay in New Jersey.
As a Sabres fan, anywhere out West is fine with me.
I agree with you about late in his career. However, the next 4+ years would still be a pain in the ass (as if it wouldn't be already) if he went to the Penguins. That being said, with the way Shero has proven he can wheel and deal, I'd be confident he could figure out a way to make that burden more bearable down the road when it comes time for Parise's career starts to hit the wrong side of his peak. |

I would only want Semin if it is a 2-3 year deal worth no more than 3.5M per season.
not a penny more. He could be our Radulov at any time he wants.
I just feel like we might pressure Grigorenko to come up too fast.. I just would rather him start the year in the AHL and we can go from there...
vanek - hodge - Pommer
Leino - Ott - Semin
Foligno - Ennis - Stafford
Tropp/Gerbe - McCormick - Kaleta
Myers - McNabb
Ehrhoff - Sulzer
Regehr - Leopold
I would be fine with this set up.. I do think that Sekera or Leo will be traded though. |

Crosby deserves a quality winger, there is no arguing that after he left 60M+ on the table with his new extension. These long term deals were not something that Shero did until Sid's deal. I can only think that Sid is lobbying pretty hard for Parise, what is Shero going to do, tell him no? It's a unique situation. I just hope the cap hit makes sense.
I don't think this affects Malkin at all, but Letang is my guess for the next high profile penguin to move on. But not for another 2 1/2- 3 years |

agreed...
In my opinion Malkin is more valuable to that team than Crosby is solely on the last 2 years.. i bet they get matching contracts again. 8.7M for each.
Neal is 5M.. Martin at 5M.. Fleury at 5M..
Judging by the cost of Dmen these days.. I bet Letang will get 5 year 27-30M?? Orpik might get 3-4 years at 4.5M per year?

They claim he is a winger.. but I would imagine his 55% face off percentage is not going to be put there full time..
I would imagine that Ott will take draws then move to winger during the shift basically...
i think Ott will also take all of our important draws in the defensive zone and be on 1PK. |
