no way Tropp plays on the 3rd line, he is 50/50 to even make the team |

Haven't heard anything towards this, but I believe Mueller would be a great fit with the #Sabres.
Why the hell do we want this bum, he's hurt all the time. |

He does fit. An underproductive center that got moved to wing. That's like, half last years team. |

the goal was to get beefier. that means scott will be slated to play like 30 games this season on the 4th line...ott will not be a 3rd liner too
mccormick will start at center on the 4th line...its a contract year for him so he has an incentive to play hard
despite what darcy said today, i still say there is no freaking way mcnabb doesnt crack the opening night roster
sulzer will be a 7th man imo, which i think kinda sucks because he looked sooo calm and confident playing alongside ehrhoff
also, if theyre going to add one of nash or ryan, stafford will surely be the one on the way out.
theres my tinkering...what do you say ? (sorry i know its a lot haha...not trying to sound toooooo opinionated but it might come off that way) - HAMgerber
It is all contingent on if we make a move for a FA/Trade first and foremost. And then once that happens or doesnt happen, you have to have two roster scenarios, one with Grigorenko making the team and one without him making the team.
Hodgson and Ennis are 1 & 2 Centers. Vanek, Pominville, Stafford (barring trade), and Foligno seem to be the Wingers. If we keep Stafford somehow and acquire someone, Foligno moves down. If we get rid of Stafford, newly acquired person takes his spot on 2nd line or takes Pominville's spot on 1st line and pushes him down to 2nd line.
Kaleta, Leino, Gerbe are set in stone wingers for 3rd and 4th line. Ott, Grigorenko and McCormick need to shake themselves out. If Foligno isnt moved down due to acquiring someone. You can move Ott to wing if Grigorenko makes team. If he doesnt, Ott remains at Center on 3rd line. If Foligno gets moved down due to acquiring someone and Grigorenko makes the team, Ott moves to 4th line Center instead of McCormick or moved to wing instead of Kaleta/Gerbe and McCormick mans the Center spot.
Confusing but it is all scenario based for me personally. First domino is whether we acquire someone, and who for. Then it comes down to Grigorenko making the team and whether we want Ott at Winger or Center which at this point is a nice luxury but I do not think Ott is a top 6 forward and I think McNabb should be a top 6 defenseman and would HATE to see Pardy/Weber keep him from being that.

Agreed.
He's a good player when he's healthy. The problem though is that he's never healthy. |

I think Tropp starts down in the AHL. Which is nice because he makes for a good injury call up. I wouldnt be mad seeing him start on the 4th line this season but not sure at what expense that would happen. |

I never said top 6 for Ott, perfect 3rd line guy who can play on any line really - Homer
Agreed. Just saying if Grigorenko makes the team, he would be 3rd line Center though moving Ott to 4th unless Ott kicks to wing. Grigorenko is not a 4th line player whatsoever while Ott is more of a chameleon and can play that role. |

Never understood why people want to give Parise Crosby type dollars but that's just me I guess.

Maybe you can answer this for me, is John Scott a winger or a defenseman? When WGR sent out the text yesterday it said dman, but NHL.com has him listed as a wing. |

He's a heavyweight boxer who happens to wear skates. It really doesn't matter which position he is pretending to play. |

Ott WAS a winger with Dallas. If Grigorenko doesnt make the team. Hodgson, Ennis as our 1 & 2 Centers with McCormick as our 4th line Center. Who becomes our 3rd line Center? Seems destined for Ott. All of our trade targets seem to be Wingers (Ryan, Nash). The FA's we are targeting seem to be Wingers (Semin and with the slightest chance of Parise). The FA market is so weak, I dont see us signing a suitable 3rd line Center (Wellwood?) when we can plug in Ott there and open up a wing spot for someone else. |

I actually saw him play D once against the Flames, he actually wasn't as bad as you might think. I would never play him there but he wasn't absolutely horrible.

If Grigorenko is our 3rd line centre (or makes the team for that matter) I think we are in trouble.
