Everyone is entitled to an opinion...unfortunately your does not matter much to me as you bring nothing to the table by negative postings....try to be a fan instead of the toilet paper that Roy was. - RicoMartin
Once again Darcy has fleeced someone for our trash. Call him whatever you will, but the guy can pull off some trades.
Now we have our physical presence; time to get more skill up front.

alright alright alright
two things on my mind:
1) do we re sign kaleta now? I hope so but idk his role has been diminished a tad now that ott and scott are in...both combine and then some to fill kaletas role
2)I assume that since darcy said ennis and coho wont be moved, that stafford and sekera will be centerpieces for a trade with ANA. What do we think gets it done for Bobby Ryan?
Id MUCH rather have ryan than nash
and Homer said were out on Nash (as well as hockey insiderr) and that ryan is "on the backburner for now"
can someone tell me what "on the backburner" means...? - HAMgerber
It means that he is being lightly sautéed. |

Derek Roy kept his rubber penises floating in one...
Seriously, though, the word on the street is that he had a fish tank and every time he "scored" with the ladies, he would drop a dollar in. In some ways, he is a man to be admired. |

Ideal lines...
Vanek – Hodgson – Pominville
FA/Trade (Nash/Semin/Ryan) – Ennis – Stafford
Foligno – Grigorenko – Leino
Gerbe – Ott – Kaleta
McCormick (healthy scratch) Tropp, Adam in minors for call ups.
Myers – Regehr
Ehrhoff – Sulzer
Leopold – Sekera
Pardy & Scott/Weber (Healthy scratch) McNabb, Brennan in minors for call ups.
Miller & Enroth
You may ask, if we trade for Nash or Ryan we have to give up someone on that roster. I could see that. We also have a lot of defensemen, good prospects in the minors (Tropp, Adam, Catenacci, hell even Armia even though I would rather not) and picks in next years draft that is supposed to be excellent. You say that is all the reason to keep the picks, I think it is all the reason to trade and try to win now.
This is conditional on Grigorenko making the team. If he doesnt, Ott moves to 3rd line Center and McCormick takes 4th line Center. You might say, Ott was just traded for our #1 Center, why put him on the 4th line!? No need to label lines. Ott, Gerbe and Kaleta will be a pesky shutdown line. You can also switch Gerbe with Foligno. Imagine that line! Foligno, Ott and Kaleta. I expect Kaleta to get hurt since he is soft so we can dress McCormick and move Ott to wing (he can still take facoffs like he did for Ribiero in Dallas) or we can call up Tropp. The fact that Tropp, Brennan and McNabb are starting in the minors shows how improved our depth is. Nice problem to have in case the injury bug hits.
Pardy will be 7th defenseman. And the final healthy scratch is between John Scott (not impressed with him as others) and Mike Weber. I give it to John Scott due to versatility in case we need him to fight. So we have a clear cut forward, clear cut defenseman, and someone who can fill in both roles, albeit very weakly.
I would be FIRED UP if this was the roster going into the season, once again all contingent on Grigorenko making the team. I would love to give him a fair shake and think the best way is to make McCormick a healthy scratch.
Please give feedback and tweaks. I will gladly explain further when questions arise. |

I dont think they got Ott to throw him on the 4th line and McNabb deserves to be in the top 6...although darcy said he is slated for Roch

There are forwards coming.....Reiger was clear in his presser....expect a center and a winger. If Parise does not come to Buffalo, then I expect Semin to be a Sabre.
If Parise comes, Arnott and Langdenbrunner might come as well.
However, I think the Sabres are moving off Parise.
With Jokinen off the market, Arnott, Porter and Mueller along with Wellwood might be the next possible centers coming our way.

I want Ott at wing, where he can do the most physical damage. He can take draws as a wing anyway.
And I want Adam to make the team. The guy scored ten goals before Lindy thought it would be fun to play mind games with him.
I also think it's a bit farfetched to pencil Grigorenko in at this point.

the goal was to get beefier. that means scott will be slated to play like 30 games this season on the 4th line...ott will not be a 3rd liner too
mccormick will start at center on the 4th line...its a contract year for him so he has an incentive to play hard
despite what darcy said today, i still say there is no freaking way mcnabb doesnt crack the opening night roster
sulzer will be a 7th man imo, which i think kinda sucks because he looked sooo calm and confident playing alongside ehrhoff
also, if theyre going to add one of nash or ryan, stafford will surely be the one on the way out.
theres my tinkering...what do you say ? (sorry i know its a lot haha...not trying to sound toooooo opinionated but it might come off that way) |
