I look at it as a small skilled guy who was on pace for 20 goals with an average of 9min of ice time a game, that's pretty good if you ask me...especially since he delievered in OT.
With Weise...beyond winning or losing fights, I thought he was physical and decent defensively. He was fifth on the team in hits... - Ronning4ever
Ebbet was solid, but when he's not scoring there's not much else brings to the table. His shooting percentage was way above his career average so I expect his goals to regress significantly. Again, I'll take him as a 13 forward and nothing more.
Weise was too inconsistent for me, there's other 4th liners out there that can hit just as much and are better hockey players and can chip in with a few more goals than he did. He was okay defensively but AV obviously doesn't trust him because he played very little in the playoffs and the 4th line outside of Lappy rarely gave the team a much needed energy shift when we needed it the most. I think most would agree that we need a better 4th line, getting an extra 5 goals from your 4th line can go along way. Look at the salary difference between a 20 goal scorer and a 25 goal scorer or a 25 goal scorer compared to a 30 goal scorer. The money ball strategy would be to sign a couple of cheap 4th liners like Kostopoulos and Bradley to play with Lappy. |

How about Jason arnott for our 3rd line center. He will provide leadership and would help out 2nd unit pp |

I like Arnott...but his footspeed will cause him to be overlooked like every other time he's been available and affordable.

To me it's Doan and failing that, Jokinen. |

The common misperception with him is that he's physical and he definitely is not and as you said he's not a good skater, especially at his age now. |

Doan would complete our team IMO but I'd only take Jokinen for one year and he probably wants and will get more. |

“@MikeHeika: Stars get Derek Roy from Buffalo in trade for Steve Ott and Adam Pardy. There is your top-six center to take Ribeiro’s place.” |

Nice trade for Buffalo. Stars didn't get much for Ribeiro so I don't get it. |

Perfect 3rd line center but the asking price was a top 6 center. |

So of the tough guys that we discussed about a month back, all seemed to be out of our reach now.
Kenopka to MIN
Carkner to NYI
Downie re-upped in COL
Ott to BUF
Is there anyone left? |

they jumped the gun though. I think all their young centre still need another year before they take over
Now either Ennis or Hodgson is going to have to take 1st line |

Maybe Florida will trade Brian Campbell for Luongo.
Garrison did OK with Campbell as a partner. |

I would take Garrison over Schenn 8 days a week
I think your D may have problems this year but it is ok seeing you have that solid goaltending to help their flaws. |

I happened to look at TSN's transaction page and noted this:
Winnipeg - Jason King Signed
Would that happen to be the same Jason King that was a one hit wonder here in Van? Thought concussions ended his career.
EDIT: http://jets.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=636669
Didn't know. |

Yeah, but philly has a nice crop of young players. If you guys get Ryan as well your team will only get better. Not a bad turn around from two years ago. |

I think the offer for Parise was defensive to make him think twice about Pittsburg, you might have a shot at Suter since he probably doesn't want to stay in the West and have to play his former teammates 4 or 6 times a year. |
