Why does being honest about the Leafs and the grossly inflated hits stat immediately suggest that something is missing in my life? - GoneFullRetard
Because I see your 'honest' posts up and down every thread about the Leafs and I am jealous you have so much time on your hands to just go around trolling Hockeybuzz - I wish I had nothing worthwhile going on in my life too so I could waste a day trying to bait Leafs fans about their team being bad (on the internet of course where everyone is 6' 4" 225 lbs).
It's just my jealousy popping up - obviously you're very well read, intelligent and make your significant contributions to society in other ways. |

You could start by not wasting your current time reading stuff that hurts your butt.

again, I ask you - do you really think 3-4 hits per game is grossly overinflated?
Schenn would generally hit somebody on every shift it seemed a lot of nights. That is not an inflated stat. It's all he did really. |

On one hand, I agree with you. That does not seem too inflated.
It only becomes silly when you look at where he stands in the league.
Honestly, the biggest disappointment I had with Schenn is that he has never lived up to the physical game hype.
I could take the anemic offense, and below average skating, if he would crunch guys a little more often, and clear the front of the net.
Most of the "hits" I remember, were sort of trying to cut someone off along the boards.
So, by comparison to the rest of the league. Yeah, I think his stats are inflated. |

It was a perfect reply to someone who doesn't know me at all, who is all upset that I don't happen to be too impressed with much to do with the leafs for the past 40 years or so.

His footspeed wasn't good enough to be a top-2 defenceman. The jury is still out on whether or not he can be a 3-4.
Emotionally, I've moved on.
I just wish we could have received more than JVR. |

I'm actually surprised they got JVR straight up. All year long most of the "insiders" were saying that it was essentially going to be Schenn + for JVR.
Wish it were a center, but not sure who's really available to target that way. |

That's on you, GFR.
I read your posts, and I see the emotional wall you put up.
Never letting anyone get to close.
Never letting anyone know your true inner beauty. Your vulnerability.
It's OK to be scared, GFR. It's OK to cry during Leafs games.
We love you, man.

Ah, I see. Don't confuse "most hits by a defenseman" with "best hitter in the league for a Dman"
Far too many people do that. It's not a stat that wins an award. Hitting is literally ALL he did. I would hope he was consistently that high.

From what I read you do that 7-8 times per comments page. Hockey seems to be the part you know nothing about. |
