Kovalchuck, you seem like a cool dude, but I don't think you know much about McClement. The guy is a MASSIVE upgrade on Armstrong and is instantly our best penalty killer. - Jimmy_T
And hes a center not a D-man

Agreed... Would you be up for trying JVR at C or would you keep him at wing personally? - kovalchukTML
Unless we acquire a center... why not?
That's what the pre-season is for.... try out JVR, Colborne, Kadri, Grabo, all out with Kessel and Lupul. There's no harm in doing that during the what? 9 pre-season games we have |

No I put him at centre and if it doesnt work out, Id play Kadri or Bozak. I don't actually think the leafs should worry about centre or goaltending. I like Riemer. I would worry about getting a better PK and a better bottom six and at least one legit shutdown defenseman. Also, I would try to add another top 6 winger.
Steckel, Mccarthur, Lombardi, Connolly (who I like) are all off the team./ |

We lost Armstrong and brought in McClement, not a drastic upgrade if one at all. Brought in an underacheiving winger for an underacheiving d-man, umm i dont see how we got any better.
Can you tell me what kind of drugs you're on or are you actually that stupid that you think we got better - kovalchukTML
We fired Wilson for one.
McClement will be an upgrade over Armstrong, for one he'll actually play.
The Schenn/JVR trade has a lot of upside and little downside.
Kulemin will not disappear this season.
And did I mention Wilson getting fired?
A healthy Reimer as well.
So I don't really consider Oxygen a drug, but it's having an adhere affect on my brain calculating changes from a team has done something different and is not the same as it was. |

I guess numbers don't tell the entire story right?! I haven't seen any games I can remember of his play and I was basing my theory off of stats which took a bit of a hit in the last couple years, I guess we'll see what he can do right |

I know right? I think I had a 3rd or a 2nd included from us, but I was just jesting. Hence my surprise that no Leafs wanted it either. JBo is drastically over paid but damn he would fit nice beside Liles.

Personally, I think burkes smart for not falling for these over priced contracts for UFA's because when these players fall off from their prime or want a trade it is hard to better your team through trade. An example of this is Luongo, he is still a good goalie but his value is decreased by the contract. Fans complain about rebuilding but acquiring a player in his prime such as parise or suter for 10 years will put us in a tough spot in 5-7 years when these players lose their value |

We have virtually the same team we sucked with last year. NO #1C NO Starting goalie and we're still as soft as microwaved butter, we haven't done anything to address these needsand unless we do we're stuck in the same place that we've been in for the last 8 years |

Indeed, anyone saying we missed out on Hudler is out to lunch. He is no where near worth that price tag, and he certainly doesn't make this team better. |

Our #1 goalie was injured, he won't be this year. And like I mentioned before, just because we have not improved in one specific area does not mean this team hasn't improved everywhere else. And "Pretty much the same" is not the same, stop down playing actual roster changes this team has done. |

Exactly. Same with players like prust for 16/ for 4 years, or that suter might get a 10 year contract, makes me like the fact that burke didnt waste the cap space they have on 2-3 overpaid players |

I think alot of people are also forgetting the leafs had a very young team last year, alot of these players are still reaching their prime and still have many things to learn, time will tell how good these players are as they continue to develop with experience |

We sucked for a quarter of the season.... the other 3 quarters we were any where from 1st to 6th in the East. Then injuries hit, and the floor gave out. |

Reimers no more of a number one then Bobrovsky. And to be successful n this league those two pieces are vital, Look at the last 5-10 championship teams |

Blow up the team??? How much meth have you smoked? We have a great number of young and up and coming prospects, a good core of players and a good set of grinders. We lack a couple of key pieces but with time and the right moves we can be a competitive team. |

WTF?? look how far we've come in these 3 and a half years and you're willing to throw it all away. We are missing only two pieces(albeit the hardest pieces to acquire) before we become serious contenders aand i'm sure none want to wait another 5 years before we get a taste of playoff action |

Good teams have good players to fill in in case of injury, we clearly didn't so we are not a good team, we're average as it stands right now and until some chnges are made its going to stay that way |

Which we will never acquire, wanna know why? Because we dont have a strong pool of prospects or the assets on this leaf team to acquire them. |
