Um.. how quickly people forget. You forgot the move that made this team better by a large margin. The firing of Ron Wilson. This team HAS gotten better, and it sounds like Burke has another trade or two on the go. Our PK was horrid and that was a bigger flaw than a 1C. With Carlyle and McClement, that just got way better. See? improvement. And what have we lost? Armstrong? he never played anyway. Schenn? replacable, and we upgraded our forward position with him with much better upside. Just because 1 specific spot wasn't addressed (and still could be) you can't deny the improvements everywhere else. And therefore, our team has gotten better.

"If JVR doesn't improve, he's still a top 6 forward, if Schenn doesn't improve, he's a 5 or 6th d-man"

Both players have high ceilings, and they both needed a change of scenery, which should help both of them

JVR has never played centre in the NHL, so if you say the Leafs might have aquired him with that in mind (since he always played centre before he made a team with Richards, Carter, Briere, and Gireux) you are an idiot. Not just an idiot mind you, but a complete and utter moron. Oh Burke envisions him on the wing? Maybe he doesnt wanna hype the kid in this wackey-ass market.

As for Seguin, even though he also has never played Centre in the NHL, he is a guarenteed number one center, the one the Leafs are so desperate for.

I agree, I think that the firing of RonWilson, the JVR trade and the signing of McClemont makes us the most improved team in the conrerence. I think 99% of what teams did yesterday was beyond stupid and most of it was borderline hilarious.

Also, the Leafs are not as bad as their record indicated last year, they had a rough patch, but for 55 games they were just out of home ice advantage territory.

Are you fukcing kidding me? We are probably destined to be last in the conference, the way we sit today. Burke and his acolytes keep saying that we're going to get better through the trade market. Trade what? We don't have the greatest assets to deal with. We're short on A level prospects. We have 3 roster spots being held by deadwood. How is this team such a great team? We are going to finish 15th in the east, get used to it!

Goaltending - As it appears, nothing, who knows what Reimer or Scrivens do next season, Reimer was brilliant before his concussion, he could return to that form this year.

Grit and Toughness - Brown, Komarov, Frattin, McClement, Komisarek, Phaneuf, Holzer
