What has he done in the AHL to make anyone think he can be 1C? - oh-dae-su

They should put Grabovski on the 1st line, if they don't get a #1C. I don't know if it would work, but they should try it out. - Jadass12
I said that already |

He was more physical with the Marlies. He was doing a fair bit of forechecking with the Leafs too.
anyway, moot point, as I doubt he will ever be a full-time NHLer. He's welcome to prove me wrong - Big_Lightnin

Thank you. Like I said, we don't know until we give him a chance. Think he has developed a lot last year, and he has proved it. Think he deserves the chance to make the jump. - MCharisma91
So if Burketard doesn't trade for a legit center, you'd rather put him in the middle of Kessel and Lupul over Bozak?
I disagree...

I want to see it in preseason. Odds are he needs more time, but he's a better fit physically than Bozak.
Is he a "legit #1 Center" - no, and likely never will be. But half the teams in the league don't have one either.

His first dozen games he put points after that mediocre at best. You don't really think he injured his wrist so early in the season do you?

Colborne is not and never will be a #1C, too slow too soft and when he's on the the ice it doesn't feel like he is controlling the play he does more watching tthen actually playing....His hockey IQ is questionable.
I may be wrong but I see NO signs of Colborne being a #1C |

did it when he was with LEafs in November
EDIT: sorry, December, it was why they sent him back down. |

This is what I don't get........... Grabovski's going to be making top line money and he'll be on the second line.. Why not give him a shot at the #1C and see if he can produce, one of Kuli of Mac are gone this summer IMO so there's no point keeping Grabs on the second line.
Put Bozak there with JVR and one of the rookies and you have yourself a pretty formidable line - kovalchukTML
I am actually open to putting Grabo on the top line |

Too be honest about 3 quarters of the league has one and to win a cup you need a legit #1C look at the last decade alone |

According to those in the know, he's too much of puck hog like Kessel... Incompatible...

yes we can see by the conversation we are having with yourself.
1st up, just for fun, Grabo is not making top line money.
2nd, as discussed, Grabo and Kessel do not play a complimentary style of game - it wouldn't work. They both want the puck all the time and are both shooters, and so is Lupul. Can't have a line with 3 shooters. There would be no chemistry. |

no, they really don't.

It sucks that the two biggest needs for a team to be successful are the two pieces we're missing.. a #1C and a starter |

I like everything about him, but until his skating really improves (which is possible) I would agree. However my Bruins buddy says we have our 1C in him. Pre-injury in November he certainly seemed like he was that guy. |
