I really hope Ashton reaches his potential, i like the kids energy.. we will be a tough team to play against in the near future with ross, ashton, biggs
- peddy-93

watch Ross make the team out of camp just cause Carlyle wants some sandpaper.

EDIT: I think he really needs a year with the Marlies just to figure out how strong he really is. Might get his ass handed to him playing with the big boys.

They should put Grabovski on the 1st line, if they don't get a #1C. I don't know if it would work, but they should try it out.
- Jadass12

Not a good fit with Kessel, they both want the puck and are both shooters. Better apart.

I'd rather see them give Colborne a good look there, and put Grabo with JVR. Not saying I think Colborne is a #1 center, but he's got size and hands, and can get to the front of the net and make space. That's most of what that line needs. This is assuming no one else comes in via trade.

He's a Tucker junior.. scores 95% of his goals around the net and is an agitator.. saw him play for Portland in the playoffs this year, we are going to love this guy

edit: Agreed.

I wouldn't mind them trying Grabo first and if it doesn't work out, then they could try Colborne.

oh ya I don't disagree there. Just don't want him up too soon and getting killed before he's ready

cause he definitely seems like the type who guys will want to kill

I wouldnt be against that.. but then again that will only happen if some of our other centers get moved

they did play a bit together on PP's and the odd double shift late last year, but that was after Lupul went down and Carlyle was just trying to find any way to score.

I just don't see their style of play complimenting one another fully.

really just Bozak. Connolly and Lombardi played plenty of wing last year - if both at still on roster, likely wing.

Grab's 2C, McClement 3C, Steckel 4C.

1st is between Bozak/Connolly/Colborne given the current roster. I include Connolly cause theoretically that was why he is here, though last year showed that likely isn't wise.

Seen plenty of Bozak there. Let's give Colbore 4-5 games there in preseason and see what shakes out.

nah I don't agree with that. He's a banger, just not enough skill to be effective in NHL I don't think.
- Big_Lightnin

No idea. In the game I watched he looked like a kid amongst men.

So you're saying Komisarek is our #1C

That's what I mean. I didn't see any hitting or anything. A lot of backchecking which was something to get used to but other then that...I don't know. I'll just leave it at that.

Honestly I was hoping they would try Kulemin in that spot last year after the worlds Last summer (he was Russia's #2 center with no Malkin, and was very good).

Possible Carlyle gives that a try as well, and he should if there is no new center brought in via trade. Everybody gets a turn.

He was more physical with the Marlies. He was doing a fair bit of forechecking with the Leafs too.

anyway, moot point, as I doubt he will ever be a full-time NHLer. He's welcome to prove me wrong

Thank you. Like I said, we don't know until we give him a chance. Think he has developed a lot last year, and he has proved it. Think he deserves the chance to make the jump.

plus Frattin and JVR are likely bumping Kuli from the top 6 unless he lights it up early.
