Agreed. it's pretty interesting to see how other teams fans undervalue our players when they clearly have potential to be good let alone great - kovalchukTML
Wow. Its also pretty interesting to see how Leaf fans have consistently fallen in love and overvalued our players for the last, oh, 40-odd years. It's called Blue and White disease; you should get that looked at. If our players are so fackin' great, why have we been out of the playoffs for 8 years and why is Burke desperate to make trades? |

Don't worry man. I've adopted Blacker as my next go to guy next to Mckegg - weirdoh
ditto, I have them on even keel since they are playing different spots.
*holding out hope McKegg is the greatest 3rd round pick of all time... well hell ok, 2nd greatest next to Lidstrom
Is that too much to ask? |

It takes time and patience now don't get me wrong I'm fresh outta patience but when Burke came here he stated he had a 3 year rebuild plan to make us contenders. We all know how that worked out but we also have to look at the good things, we now have a solid nucleus of young players with potential and a new star player to build around(kessel) something we didn't hve 4 years ago.
We're only two pieces, albeit the two biggest pieces away from actually becoming a good team so why is it so wrong to have confidence in the young guys for once. I'm sure you an ask any Leaf fan and they'll tell you they're excited for the future |

I thought with Schenn's departure he was a shoe in? And also thought he was the best Leaf in Carlyle's stint. Pretty high on this guy and really hope he isn't traded. |

I hate how Burke's word is taken as gospel. He never said that. Here's what he really said per Globe & Mail
Burke was the GM with the Anaheim Ducks for just under two years when that team won its first and only Stanley Cup in 2007.
“It’s not easy to fix a team that’s broken,” Burke said. “It’s not. And I had no illusions or delusions about that except that I watched general managers get up there the first day [they were hired]and say we’ve got a five-year plan... I don’t respect that. (all he ever said is that he wasn't interested in a 5-year plan and people went all ape poop with assumptions)
“My view was I was hopeful we could do it quicker. We haven’t. But I haven’t changed the plan... We have more first-round picks [in the organization] than any other team in the NHL... It’s a young group, we haven’t gone old, we haven’t tried to band-aid things, we’ve tried to build them. But yes, it’s frustrating. It’s very difficult.
“I was in the playoffs seven straight years before I got here. This has been agonizing. I’m sure you can see it in my face – I haven’t slept in a month, two months. If fans think they’re disappointed, I can assure you the general manager is far more disappointed.” |

If he's not traded, Komi will be in the lineup - hard as this is to say, they need him on the PK

Really don't want to see either Kulemin or Blacker traded. Kuli cause you're really selling low, and Blacker cause I think he's going to be very good, especially paired with O'Reilly eventually.
Or hell, Franson. Blacker-Franson on the #2 PP would be fun - bombs from both sides up top
Hoping he gets minimum 20 games with the Leafs this year to get his feet wet. He lost a lot of developement due to injuries last year, so might not be ready to steal a spot in camp.
Although, he's had 3 great camps so far. Hell he looked better than most Leafs D when he was 18. - Big_Lightnin
Thank Ron Wilson for that. Once the Leaf roster learns and adapts to Randy Carlyles defensive system I think we will be a lot better. I'm down with keeping both of them, but if a lottery pick or anything that can help us comes back in a trade I'd do it. We have an abundance of D with Finn and Rielly being drafted this year. |
