Instead, we will have Connolly and McClement.
... perfect summary of what is wrong. - GoneFullRetard

ok still poop ur trading though and no.1 don't come in abundance, I see statsny as an upgrade over grabs so id say he is a no1 even if a 1b, your going to have to overpay. - Blindfatkid
Considering what it cost DAL to get Roy, I don't think it should be anything crazy.
And yes I am making a mild comparison between those two. Even though we would all rather have Stats, the fact is that they have both tailed off in the same way over the last few years, and this recent Roy deal gives us a scale to compare with in terms of the trade market
It all depends on COL's needs |

Doan would be a nice fit on Chicago if they can unload some salary.

I guarantee we do not have anything special to look forward to in the 2013 draft.

That really makes me want to jump ship and give up on 46 years of wishful thinking , with nothing to look forward to !

Lupul - Bozak - Kessel
JVR - Grabo - Kulemin
MacArthur - McClement - Frattin
Lombardi - Steckel - Brown
That's how I see it - cor99
Can see Mcclement in the minors.
There's no reason why Zigo can't fill that hole.
Plus I see Colborne doing better than those two at camp and winning that third line centre role.
Aside from that I more or less agree that's how it will look |

Connolly in the minors I hope... I cannot believe the Leafs will be able to unload him. - GoneFullRetard
I think a team below cap floor will take a chance on him.... maybe even Lombardi too |

Komarov will be in over Lombardi in my opinion. Ziggy over Mcclement?? No chance a free agent signing goes right to the minors. |

1. McClement was brought in to fill the Pahlsson role from in Anaheim... and he's a good fit.
2. We don't have Zigomanis, he's a free agent and clearly Burke and Carlyle aren't too high on him. I doubt he re-signs after playing what? 3 years without a call up
3. I sorta want to see Colborne between Kess and Lups to start the year |

I'm not surprised. I've sprained my MCL before, and it took a lot longer than 3 weeks. Several months. I've had ACL surgery and that was towards a year before I could play again. |

Would be nice, as Joe does have the hands. It's just how he'd hold up against better D pairings that makes me wonder.

Do you think its total coincidence that they brought in a guy that leads his teams in pk ice time for forwards? I think they can probably find a use for him somewhere. |

I think he would be great... he's a big bodied center, doesn't throw big hits, but uses his body... |

We won't know until he gets a chance!
Hopefully Colborne plays with Lups & Kessel in preseason to see if they click. |

Speaking of that, I'm wondering why we've really never tried Kessel and Grabs besides the odd shift or two: I know Mac in the USSR was hot two years ago, but you'd think Grabs speed and backchecking diligence would be a better option than Bozak. - gravyface
I think the theory is that Grabs Lupul and Kessel don't have enough puck to go around. A play-making center with size and defensive responsibility is what Kessel and Lupul need.
That is why I am not so sure Kessel puts up any better numbers with top flight #1C ? |

Guess he's assuming Grigo will be able to step into the pros right away?
Doubt it, but they do have Hodsgon, and Vanek, who can bank pucks all by themselves, so who knows.
A similar Stats offer would be Mac, Komisarek and a 2nd, based on that Roy deal.
And come to think of it, considering how nutty COL was in giving their 1st and 2nd away in this draft for Varlamov, who knows, maybe they're feeling a little goofy in Denver |

Agree if he comes here, he would slot in nicely there. But aside from 4th line duties, I just don't see him fitting.

Spreading around the talent I suppose. 2nd line is pretty useless without Grabovski, given Connolly's complete bed crapping last season. - Domidives
Wondering if Colborne changes that though. Grabs is closer than Colborne, Connolly or Bozak to a #1 center. |
