Are the Sabres retarded?

Ryan Rishaug ‏@TSNRyanRishaug

As per @TSNBobMcKenzie Roy for Pardy and Ott.

it didn't help them either

A defense that was 11th in GAA and 2nd in PK can't be considered brutal. You can say that "on paper" they don't have the biggest names around but their defense isn't why the Habs won't make the playoffs. It's whether or not they can be tougher and score more goals that will determine if they fall short or not.

never said that ever, please find where i did. I like Blacker, gonna be a good one, only saw him play a few times. But if you think that trumps what the habs have then good for you.

They have wanted to dump Roy for a long time. And they need to replace Gaustad. Derek Roy had 44 points last year. His stock wasn't very high.

Healthy Gionta, and dare i say it Markov will help as well. Not sure if Markov plays 100% but even at 80% he is still in our top pairing. Brutal.

Thank god.

Ott I liked though but it wouldn't make the leafs a contender.

Great Price signing by Montreal.... That's exactly what I thought he'd get and well worth it...

Great trade by Buffalo too... Sucks, I wanted Ott in Toronto... He'll be making life hell for Leafs players now... Feck

buff fans have been complaing about no no.1 centre for a while now and they trade the closest thing they had to one for a 3c and 7d

How so? It's pretty much the same. Unless you're expecting them to trade Subban. Gorges is still there, Markov is finally healthy (for how long, who knows) and they brought back Boulion. You could say they aren't stocked with big name players but their defense wasn't or isn't "brutal".

Joey Crabb still on Leafs roster via their website. Looks like the Leafs only have 1 goalie. Scary. Thought I'd look on the roster page to see if anyone else was missing or added. None yet. I hope the Leafs can make a few trades to bring someone in. Im a Flyers fan at heart, but living almost my entire life in Toronto, I hope that they do good. I do hope they can somehow get rid of the likes of, Connolly, Lombardi, Komisarek, and even Steckel. Let the young kids play! Bring in Kadri, Holzer, D'Amigo, Hamilton, Scrivens. Honestly, I think they will be just fine. Kids who were hungry in the AHL playoffs, will definitely have something to prove. I hope they give these kids a chance. If not, so what! Draft high! Who cares what majority of the fans want. You want short term dividends only to go through the same crap all over again sooner, or suffer a little more to have LONG TERM success? I'd rather the later. Alot of fans don't realize the ergonomics that goes with running a franchise. I know people are impatient and pissed and frustrated, but if they were refinishing their kitchen, would they pay a guy $3000 cheaper to get the job half fast, or spend the extra $3000 in labour/time to have it done right. You be the judge. I'd rather do it right once, then have to do it again. I hope nothing but the best for you Leaf fans. I really do. Cheers!

He was the habs best player a few years ago, and if he can even play at 80% that is still better than an extra 5 mins a night of Kaberle.

How long will Markov stay healthy though?

And Boulion is nothing but a 6th d-man

Hodgson wants top-six minutes and they just drafted Grigorenko who probably wants a shot at the NHL right away.

Roy scored 44 points last year and he only has 1 year left on his deal. Maybe they knew he wasn't going to resign and wanted to deal him before the season started.

Well they played well defensively without him so if he gets hurt again, it's something that they have dealt with before. If he's healthy, it's a bonus.

Boulion replaces Gill in terms of defensive defender minutes.

Glad to have Ott. Really glad. But as of now, the Sabres lack a center who has ever scored more than 46 points in an entire season and only one center who has actually played an entire NHL season.

Both of them are Ott.

Maybe they plan on signing Jokinen and figured they could get tougher by acquiring Ott.
