Hey, if your not going to have a great team, you might as well have a fun team to watch.

I miss when TO had Belak, Domi, etc... at least it was fun

- Hockey_Reverend

Tucker, Corson, Roberts, Clarke, Marchment. Teams were scared to play us.

No kool-aid here. Just not having a sky is falling party like the rest of you.

as was said earlier - it's July 2nd.

I'm going into watching the season with no expectations this time, just going to watch and see who plays well, also keep an eye on the prospects.

Your not drinking the Burke Kool-aid are you?

Have you seen our roster? We are no where near the playoffs in our current state, even if Burke makes a big trade, I still don't see it...

- Hockey_Reverend

Dont be surprised if teh roster looks a little different come camp, including maybe Kessel traded. People who are complaining about yesterday are nuts...theres noone that i wouldve wanted leafs to sign. Maybe Parros...otherwise nothingwouldve fixed Leafs problems.> #1 centre and #1 goalie...I think Burke is a long way from done, people treat yesterday like a deadline day... there was very average talent that signed for alot

The sky already fell...

Burke just needs to be carefull what he says.

Remember the whole John Teveres affair?

He keeps saying he is going to address the toughness, center position, and goaltending, and he has done squat.

He has been saying he is going to address those team weaknesses for what, 4 years now??

They seem very confident that it has only begun. But how many trades can he make? By the way he's talking he sounds like he wants to complete a few trades, but you never know with Burke. As for your trading Kessel comment, I don't think there is even a slight chance he will be traded as long as Burke is here.

No setup for disappointment if that is the way the season goes.

Beside all the pot shots, and snide remarks both fan bases knows how this season is going to go for both teams, not well.

No kidding,

from like 1999 to the early 2000's we didn't have the best team in the league, but if you wanted to beat us at least we would make you bleed...

that is the kind of grit we need. not goons, hard nosed guys....

There is no way Burke would trade Kessel. He just won't. If he did, I would be absolutely shocked...

Dont be so surprised. Carlyle has a say in it too and I dont think he really likes him. I could be wrong, but if he could get a nice return, I wouldnt be shocked...

He really needs to start with 1 trade.. If you get a goalie, sounds like no Luongo, and i dont know really who else they could get, but goaltending will cover up for a lot of blemishes while you keep building.. Then you need more size and skill in top 6. A couple of power wingers and a centre.. Theyre a ways away obviously..but start with the goaltending and go from there.. Id want clowe type (obviously backes, brown, stewart kind of guys wont be available)

I beg to differ player development is the way to go the leafs need veteran leadership in a forward and dman.
