That is what I meant, very solid centre(s) if you combine that with great goaltending, you got an excellent chance. - LeafMan
semantics...'dominat', 'very solid'......whatever you want to call it, the Leafs have none of them. |

I wouldn't say that Prust was hired by the habs for his offensive skills. I think he was brought in for something else...

I think that was a great signing, all UFA's are overpaid but I bet he will be fan favourite, wanted him on the Leafs. |

And Krejci had 23 pts in 25 games.
I'd say when your top 2 centers put up numbers like that in the playoffs, it's that they are pretty effin' good. |

He is certainly building up on centers and D and hoping that they can play a good system under Carlyle IMO. |

No they don't, still a long way to go but as I said the prospect depth is getting there. |

Moen is a tough guy, but he was alone in the bottom 6 who could play hockey AND hit/fight. Prust, Moen, White in the bottom 6 is gonna give the Habs a lot more sandpaper. They were so (frank)ing soft it's unbelievable. |

It was one of 3 moves i wanted them to make. Prust is not a heavyweight, and he shouldnt be fighting Lucic or Parros, gives up too much size. Doan will never happen, and they said they don't want Jagr either. |

bozak, connolly, lombardi, kadri, colborne, mcclement, steckel, zigomanis.....that many. - Barx
Colborne and Ziggy are AHL material.
One of Connolly or Lombardi will be traded or 'dealt' with.
So other than that, what is your point? |

Neither are heavyweights but a little deterrent and grit is better then none. |

Hey, I am not happy at all with our signing. Just think Montreal could have gotten a similar guy for 1 mill... you just shouldn't have anyone on your fourth line making over 1 mill. They are only going to play a handfull of minutes, it is just bad math... - Hockey_Reverend

1. Ziggy is a UFA, he isnt on our team
2. I wouldn't say Colborne is ONLY AHL material... he's what? 22 |

the point is, they have a boatload 3rd line centremen, and nothing other than brown in the way of toughness.
prust is a stronger addition than mcclement. |

It doesn't matter if he's a heavyweight or not. He can fight guys like Chris Neil and be a good player as well, not a guy that you send out there ONLY to fight.
Parros is a heavyweight who can play, but there's not a lot like him in the league. Shawn Thornton as well. |
