Crabb on conference call: "I'm just excited for the chance to win some games."

...nothing like having a 4th line plug sum up the big picture in one condescending statement.

I'm not crapping on Kessel. I'm stating facts that are obvious to everyone who actually watches hockey.

Kessel is NOT better than Parise. This is a universal fact. That is not the same as saying Kessel sucks.

Parise is a very elite winger in this league. If he hadn't broken his leg last season, He'd have more goals scored than Kessel over the last 5 seasons.

Period.

Kessel's BEST asset is goal scoring, and Parise is better at it than him. Parise is also good defensively.

Kessel managed to not be as big a liability defensively last season, but he is not where near someone you can call "good" defensively.

I like Kessel. He's an elite sniper. Parise is a better player, and his play proves it.

Period. It is shocking to think there is even debate here.

Again, I am not saying Kessel sucks, but any means. But he is not better than Parise.

Agreed, Parise is better than Kessel; he's also in his prime, Kessel's still a few years out, so there's still room for him to get even better than he is now.

What I'm not getting is all the belly-aching on here today about Burke not "trying" to sign Parise. I'm sure he's considered it -- like I'm sure they've considered alot of things -- and they probably:
a) don't like their chances, right or wrong, because Burke's not going to sign him to a long-term front-loaded contract.

b) they would need to move Lupul; perhaps they don't want to after the season he had (PPG pace) and the chemistry he had with Kessel (best point production in his career).

c) they feel that shelling out Parise money would be better spent on a #1 center.

d) locking up a guy who'll be 28 this year doesn't really do much for a team that's a good 3+ years away from becoming a contender. Adding Parise instead of Lupul doesn't get them much closer.

I'm sorry, but besides the front-loaded part (and I don't like the fact that Burke chooses not to do them), everything else makes a whole lot of sense to me.

Now Suter, well, I'm a bit surprised we're not going hard for him: a Phaneuf-Suter pairing would be great to see.

I hope that is not our lineup unless we are looking to collect draft picks..
- DoctorNHL

Well, that's the reality of the situation....but depending on who we get (if anyone) as our #1C...and maybe another piece or two, some solid goaltending....could change the outlook.

He left college so he could play for the Leafs,Marlies or Generals.

And apparently there's rumors of the London Knights being interested in him.

Hunter would turn him into a mean SOB. And him and the Ruperts

I think you have a problem with other people's opinions, you cried to the admins to come back from a ban, grow up, you're like an angry kid on here who doesn't get his way. Calm down and don't get so upset over a differing of opinion.
- LeafMan

Unfortunately too many around here that can't appreciate the difference between debate and it being personal... I love to banter whether the opinion differs or not.. sometimes it is even better when it differs.

EDIT Can't

That defense is not bad.....they need a dependable system and properly managed minutes. Carlyle can give them that. They just need to execute it.

What can you do, some people take a differing of opinion as a personal attack on them, others debate it being civil to one another.

Biggs sounds like a bit of a beast for junior... He should have a great year amongst the smaller kids... London Knights eh? That would be swell...

Yes and I am also a guest of someone who allows us to frequent his premises and I don't usually walk in with my muddy shoes.. put my feet up on his coffee table, demand bigger drinks.. pat his wife on the ass, and call him an a-hole.
