If Parise and/or Suter lands in PIT what does that mean for Malkin? He only has a few years left on his deal.
- NickTheKid87

2 years left. Not sure what that means, but it's concerning. I think Ray Shero is one of the best and it seems, like philly, he'll do what it takes to get the players he wants. Everything I've read, they think they can get Malkin for nearly the same as Sid....again. Malkin is absolutely a must however.

If the Pens offered $90 its not like he wont be rich. Why Parise isnt allowed to move across state to play?
- stveshdy

He is allowed to move anywhere he wants, but if you don't think uprooting his family and moving them to Pittsburg doesn't play into the equation... your wrong.

Do you think this is the Season that the Shelly contract finally sinks the Flyers?
- MJL

Hell, if they do what everyone wants them to do they will actually need Shelly to play the whole year to fill out the roster

Nah, I think he should get an extension. He's made a fine mascot.

I understand that but if he signs anywhere other than Philly or NJ he has to do that.

If Suter signs, does he ask Pronger for his number after signing a 100 million dollar deal to be the face of the D?

Awkward

Sid took a monster discount though. It would be tough for them to get Malkin to do the same when he could make a lot more on the open market. A lot depends on what will happen with the CBA too.

I would imagine the Pens are offering close to the same money as Philly. Prob more than they want cause of the philly deal on the table.

No need for an enforcer anymore and I honestly dont care what he does in the locker room behind closed doors. Not worth the money.

Exactly. So with the Flyers having the dollar amount, I think they have a great shot.

Personally, I think it comes down to Philly and Minnesota.

Shelley a bigger cap hit than Boyes. Isn't that amazing?
- PLindbergh31

And Bouwmeester has a bigger cap hit than Erik Karlsson. What's your point?

could be, I wonder if this is a back and forth thing, cause I see the Flyers just pushing the number up if they have a chance, I mean at this point you're already pot committed......

Im just happy that they tried with these guys. They may get neither and may have missed out on some role players like Prust, but you can't fault them for their effort, and if this falls through they move onto their next venture

I think the Flyers have a great shot also. Parise will be getting similar offers to what the Flyers made. Suter on the other hand may not be getting what the Flyers offered. Just my opinion but I could be wrong.

if nothing else happens in this offseason at least the goalie position has been weakened.

I just still don't see Parise signing with any team within the Devils division. But that is just me.

I am unhappy with Lilja as the 7th defenseman. Burn the city to the ground.

Yea, I agree. If it's where he feels comfrotable and the club offers more than anyone else, then I don't see why he wouldn't sign in the Atlantic, whether it be with Pitt or Philly.

It's about the respect he apparently has for LL and the Devils organization and fans. I dont know if it is true or just smoke, but Parise seems like a standup guy and would be averse to that type of "betrayal".

$30-40 million dollars can change that mindset very quickly.
