does anyone even know if they're in or out of Suter, Parise or Semin? I know we can speculate, but nobody knows what Garth does and even less when we get turned down by an offer.

Yeah, you are right but he succeeded. Going into the season with a glaring maybe is not the best plan of action. I like the signing but not penciling him on the top line. Either that void has to be filled or more secondary scoring should be added.

I am the koolaide guy.. just don't want them to do what we did last year. If they get Ryan I would obviously be pretty happy. Especially if they get another D-man too. .. but a top pairing d-man. Not Jurcina type.

They were definitely never realistically in on Parise or Suter. Semin maybe, but he's still a huge long shot. He's going to want a longer term contract if I were to guess.

The preceding was a parody. I'm not gonna tell people how to feel after yesterday's moves since I don't even know how I feel after yesterday's moves. I'm hoping that whether you're happy or bummed, we can all take a break and have a quick laugh. Unless this is the Eric Boulton of hockey parodies. Then I'm screwed.

Guess you missed this at the bottom...

it's friggin hysterical...

The veteran goon/pylon will now take a roster spot away from one of the 487 defense prospects in the Islanders' system, stunting their development forever.

said Carkner, who stinks. "For me personally, I really wanted to help the team this year being my first one on the Island. But I just made everything worse and teams are going to score, like, a million goals against us.

"But hey, at least I can fight."

You want to attract better free agents? It might help.

wow, what an incredibly ignorant statement to make. Heres a question for you. If there was a restaurant in town that was known for having a terrible atmosphere, horrible food, and sub par service, but high food prices, would you go there for dinner? absolutely not. Especially when its been that way for 5 straight years and management has shown you no reason to believe they want to improve anything. "but if you go and give them more money, MAYBE they will get better"...newsflash, thats not how business works in the real world. Why on earth would a father of 3 spend easily over $200, to sit in bad seats, and watch the islanders most likely lose a game 3-1, or 4-2 with little excitement when he can save that money and put it towards christmas presents. As someone who covers hockey, to make a statement that casual fans should be selling out the Nassau Coliseum to see a 5 year running lottery team, is comical, and borderline scary.

Brad Boyes scored the Islanders' lone positive move in the first period of the day. The acquisition came on a fluke play in which a former 40-goal scorer has a dreadful, pitiful season and signs for spare change out of desperation and to avoid playing in Switzerland this coming year.

hysterical.

She really is. There is nothing more I hate then when she questions a fans loyalty. Anyone who pays attention to this team deserves an award. Drives me (frank)ing nuts.

stop what? you think marching a slow, non point producing, non hitting bum was a good idea? OK I'll Stop... getting ZERO points from our 4th line is a great idea. I hope they re-sign Pando and maybe get Wallace back too.
- niteislander

I'm talking about you comparing Boulton & Pandolfo. Two completely different players and saying Boulton will be taking ice time away from a kid, when another poster was dead on when he said that you don't bring up kids to bury them on the 4th line.

incorrect.. none of us thought we would sign those guys. We did expect that a trade would happen where we get a very good player with a tough cap hit.

why? B/c Snow said that about 3 times.

That's your first mistake believing anything out of Snow or Wang's mouth. When will you learn?

I'm not unhappy about the signing but the guy had eight goals last year. Replacing a first/second line player with a guy who had eight goals last year is risky. It may turn out OK if he can regain his form but that's a big IF. You can't bank on him producing 70 points.

the year before parenteau signed with the isles these were his numbers:

You my friend were right all along about PA. You knew he is goign to walk and you never liked him. I said this once PA will be the next Jason Blake. I dont think he gets that point total this year. In fact I think Boyes will havemore points then him this year

I love the Boyes signing. He's a finisher like Moulson, that line could be even more deadly if JT is flanked with two pure goal scorers. And he's dirt cheap.

Irrelevant. PA wasn't a 7-year vet with a clear 4-year track record of being in decline at this level.

As long as DP is an Islander, Capt Jack is the Coach, Wang is the owner and the Kool Aid Klan continues to post here. Then there will be reason for the Wolf Pack to exist!
