i dont know what's worse, nucks fans thinking they can get weber for junk, or nucks fans thinking they can still win the cup.

the window of opportunity has closed for them, the sedins are back to being 80 point players, kesler will have to find more creative ways of diving.

- sensnucksnocups

Well......if they put Schneider in net, maybe they CAN win the cup.

A hot goalie can hide a lot of mistakes....and a weak one can kill your chances, especially when the cup is in the building...TWICE!!!

it wasnt luongo's fault they lost the cup. the nucks couldnt even score, not even schneider could have changed that. the sedins are way too soft to compete with the heavy hitting bruins, and diving can only get you so far.

Like game 7 of the finals?

Luongo was awful in the 4 losses, he was the reason they lost.

I know I am not going to win over any fans in Nashville for this, but then again, most don't like me anyway, but with all the crap being heaped on Weber and Suter, lost in the shuffle is David Poile.

A few years back, a great of local investors came together and bought our team. At the time, what caught my eyes, was the revelation that Craig Leiopold had taken the team as far as he could. The local investors had to do the rest. From my perspective they have.

So now I question whether it is time to find a GM who can get us over the hump. Don't get me wrong, I like David Poile and he has been a great asset to our organization. But on his resume of 30 years as a GM is not winning a CUP, bringing Radulov back and letting him off his final year, letting Suter go for NOTHING, and potentially, losing all asset value in Shea Weber.

Unless Weber is willing to sign a FAIR long term contract, by the start of the season, Poile must trade him. If he doesn't, and Weber leaves as a UFA or we get a weak return at the trade deadline, POILE SHOULD BE FIRED.

It pains me to say those words, but we don't' live in fantasy land. We live in a land where we MUST take the good that comes out of a players mouth with a grain of salt, and focus on the bad. In the case of Weber and Suter, both have said all the right things. But both also have made more then a few comments that suggest they don't want to be in Nashville. They don't believe in Nashville. They don't believe they can win a CUP in Nashville.

Hindsight is 20/20, but looking back, Poile should have traded Suter at the start of last year, or at the latest, the trade deadline. Had he done that, and if we had received some draft picks, some prospects, we might be a better team going into this year. Had he traded Suter, he could have told Weber prior to the 7/1 of this year he needs to sign or he is going to be traded for a mountain of prospects and draft picks. If Weber signed, great. If not, we would have had 2 years of draft picks and prospects at our disposal.

Yes it would have been a rebuild. But we still have Pekka Rinne, and we would have had a wealth of talent a year or 2 away. As it turns out, we are getting nothing for Suter, less then potential for Weber, and we have no prospects or draft picks.

This may turn out better than it looks, but right now, I am seeing a GM who has failed the organization and let top assets go for nothing. Had this happened on Wall Street, Trump would have said, "YOUR FIRED"

- dgutzman

I feel your pain. And yes hindsight IS 20/20.
I truly think that through discussions through the season that Suter and Weber both really like Nashville and would like to stay.
They both have had very good seasons All-Stars, Award nominations etc.. and 2 of the best D-men in the league. (will be interesting to see what happens if they get split-up) I hope it doesn't happen, but probably must happen.
I think the money has gotten so huge maybe more than what management and even players expected ?
I really would not like to be in Poile's shoes right now. Huge decisions need to be made that will really effect what the fans do.
The Preds have really worked hard in getting the fans to commit even getting the Titans fans to switch over to Preds fans.
If some big moves are not made they will likely move back over the bridge.

Edler, Ballard, Raymond, 1st and 2nd for Weber.

Now that the Nucks got Garrison that makes these dmen available..

Two top four dmen to replace Suter and Weber under contract already.

Who beats that?

On Nash,

JVR or Kesler?

The Nucks could offer up Kesler + in a deal for Nash.

Is Burke still at the parade? Are the Leafs gonna do anything? Burkey thinks he can build from within again.

typical nucks fan, cant even admit their whole team couldnt match up against the bruins. 8 goals in 7 games? yet somehow it's luongo's fault?

several teams in the league could beat that. adding ballard and raymond lowers the value of the deal, if i was nashvillle i'd rather have edler + 1st and 2nd.

this a top 3 dman in the NHL, and you're giving back a very good dman, two salary dumps and two low picks? not happening.

besides, predators want offense, they are loaded at D even with weber and suter departing.

boston dominated the games they won, and barely lost the games they lost. feel free to look at the box scores to help remind you of how bad the nucks did that series.

You think webber would get 2 top 6 forwards, a top 4 dman, and 2 first round picks. NEVER

What? We weren't discussing how many Cups the Leafs won? Out of nowhere you jst resort to the "How many Cups have you won?" argument? That really is all you have, isn't it. Hell of a try. Leafs are the laughing stock of the NHL and Toronto is one of the worst sports cities in all of North America. Keep clinging to the past though, the rest of us get a real kick out of it.

we arent discussing how the leafs did in the playoffs either. we're discussing the nucks and the bruins, and you decided to change topic, so why cant i? if you're going to try and trash talk a franchise, at least make sure you are more successful than them.

damn you just got owned.

Not sure who's reporting...maybe @Eklund , but Brian Burke couldn't be more emphatic in saying Toronto is NOT in on Nash. As you were...

Leafs could afford it with all their depth, right? Wait, has Burkey traded away his first round picks at the next draft yet?

Kadri, Komi and a 1st for Weber?

The Penguins entered the league in 1967. That was A LONG LONG time ago (as Leafs fans would know!). Since then the Penguins have won 3 cups. Their longest playoff drought ever was 6 years and that was in the 1980's. Since the Penguins have entered the league they have enjoyed WAY MORE success than the Leafs who have not won a thing since then and continue to be the ONLY team in the entire NHL that has not made the playoffs since the lock out. The fans and team are mocked and laughed at by everyone else in the hockey world. Congratulations, if that's what you define as "success" then you can have it.
