Clutterbuck, but he would cost too much... frankly, I'd rather not overpay for either

Burke is smart for free agency, he learned through his mistakes with armdog and komi and connolly and is not going to make another stupid signing for big money. He is 100% correct that most of these players are a load of crap for free agency and that the only thing he can possibly do is make an offer to guys like suter or a parise. Other then that i like the resignings of some of our players but the Mcclement i didnt really see the point of.. probably a good PK guy but would get 4th line minutes surely nothing special, though carlyle seemed to like this guy so maybe fits his system better.

I think Ott isn't an option anymore...now that we got McClement (not saying he's better than Ott, cause he isn't), but it wouldn't work...unless Ott can play wing too

My original wish list for this summer was chris stewart, one of bernier or luongo, and Justin Schultz.... but if we acquire chris stewart and like a bernier i would be happy with that.

Gotta agree with you! Those 2 would be a great upgrade.
Someone said it here I think...if we have 4 solid top 6 wingers (Kessel, JVR, Stewart, Lupul/MacA/Kulemin (if any of the 3 are involved in the deal for CS) ...I'd be fine with Bozak/Grabo as our 1 & 2 C

Either is good. I just put Stewart with Kessel so Phil could have a big forward by his side to help him out against bigger guys (Lucic) ..but your one could work also, no doubt.

Burke is right though, free agency is a joke, players dont wanna come here unless we have a good playoff team ready which we dont so you can cross off guys like parise or suter to toronto and players are signed to huge uneccessary contracts that are an embarrassment. Guys like the matt carles, jokinens, hudlers are going to be making in the range of 4-5 million surely which would be stupid for the leafs to spend on when we have too many defenders, jokinen is old, hudler is not worth it, etc. Would love to take a run at jagr but he would never come here

This whole "bobby Ryan doesn't get along with Carlyle" is probably overblown. I would hope Burke makes a strong push for Ryan and he becomes our top line center. Carlyle has experimented with Ryan at center before and says his game is better suited for it.
