The Penguins' offer to Zach Parise is unprecedented in their franchise history for an unrestricted free agent.
According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Rob Rossi, the offer has more years and is for a larger average annual salary than the seven-year, $50 million proposal in 2008 to Marian Hossa, who ended up signing with with the Wings. Parise has received offers from at least seven teams and is believed to be seeking at least $10 million per season. The coveted free agent is expected to make his decision Monday, after taking the night to mull over his options.

Scott will have the same impact MacIntyre had for Pittsburgh last year, nothing. Instigator rule has neutered their role in present day NHL. They are pointless. They don't scare anyone because nobody will fight them and they players aren't afraid to take runs because they know that fighter's ass is glued to the bench all the time.

Guys like Asham may be a dime a dozen, but that is the proper kind of toughness that is needed in the modern NHL. Not some scrub like Scott or MacIntyre. Even Parros is light years ahead of those two as hockey players.

Be careful with Rossi, lately he has been more interested in being in the story rather than just reporting it. Dave molinari is my go to for legit Penguin stuff. Seth Rorabaugh and Josh Yohe are better too.

Hes looking for $10M per season?

He'll get that until hes 35, so 8 years at $10M a season, and then another 7 years where it goes from $6M in the first 4 years and drops to $2M in the last 3.

110M, 15 years, 7.333 cap hit
