It all depends on whether he gets a 2 way or 1 way contract, I doubt he gets a 1 way contract
- theblueandgold

One way and two way contracts don't affect waivers after 3 years or 160 games as a pro, it means what you will make in the minors. One way, you make all the bucks in the NHL or minors. 2 way you make your NHL salary in the NHL or a much lower minor league salary in the minors.

thats laughable... I had only heard of the guy once before today and that was because he was just devastating teams when he was with Chicago with all of his body checks.

I am just not a hypocritical fan.. I don't complain about wanting a guy who will stand up for his teammates and who will instill fear into an opponent so our key players don't get trampled and then when we finally get a great fighter.. I analyze him for his offensive output.

- JVince11

As an outsider, no one was complaining about the signing, just the fact that he was a better hockey player than Cody, which he is not.

John Scott is payed to fight.
Cody is payed to be a 4th line guy who brings grit and toughness, bangs home a couple (10-15 pts) a year, and just so happens is not afraid to fight.

By all means if they want to play Scott against boston I am all for it.

Philly wouldve swept us if Miller wasnt our goalie
- theblueandgold

it is Miller's fault that Lindy sits on every 1 goal lead and allows Miller to get shelled for 40+ shots each time.. and then if one actually gets in..

OH YOU SUCK MILLER!!! YOU HAVE NO CLUTCH..

Buffalo scored only 4 ENGs allll of last year.. why can't they just shut the door on teams.

I'm cool with that... I like Cody too don't get me wrong.. but he doesn't have any shock value to him when he comes on the ice... When Thornton, Scott, Parros, etc come on the ice... everyone knows where they are the whole time.

well he has this year and next... I'm sure you will be like the rest of the people that bash on Miller all year but when he is true to his form like he was the whole second half of the year.. you will disappear.
- JVince11

I am sure he will get back to his average best this year. We will be out in the first round again. Then you can blame the team again.

what are you, twelve? You flip flopped so many times on this subject, you started contradicting and arguing for AND against yourself.

The guy is a goon, will play 3 minutes a game WHEN HE PLAYS, plain and simple, but won't do much of anything else.

He'll take the coveted 13th forward spot currently held by Matt Ellis. I think I like Scott there over Ellis.

I am telling you, the exemption still exists for a player coming out of his entry level deal. Otherwise that chart has no significance.

He loses waiver exemption once hes played his 61st NHL game. Not professional game, NHL game.

http://en.wikipedia.org/w...from_regular_waivers_only

The following players can be assigned to the AHL (or for players on an entry-level contract, the ECHL) as many times as a team wishes without needing to clear waivers, until they have reached the amount of NHL games played as indicated in the table below.

23 years old - 3 years removed from ELC signing - 60 NHL games played

Brennan is still exempt from waivers.

IMO, just having him here will protect our stars a little more. Knowing we have the option to insert him into the line up next time we play team a where a player takes a run at one of our skill guys.

I find it amusing that you have openly admitted before that you only started watching Hockey since 05/06, yet you know more than everyone else who have been watching the sport for 25+years.

There was a time when a fighter or 2 was NEEDED on your team. That time has come and gone.

How have I flip flopped anything??

The guy averaged more time on the ice than Mike Rupp did for NYR last year.. he averaged 6:42..

I have said Scott is a goon the whole entire time.. and apparently everyone misconstrued my comment when I said that Scott is better than Cody at every facet of the game(of being a goon).. I just left out that part.. and everyone got upset..

it is what it is slave. I'm not gonna get upset because I rustled your jimmies.

look, if he only plays 6 games against the Bruins, and punish Lucic and Thornton, I would say he has earned his $600k salary.

John Scott was the top trending USA topic on twitter; he's still in the top ten. Just think what happens if the Sabres get Ryan. #thepowerofhockey

Maybe it is Ruff. He is a coaching dinosaur. But unfortunatly we will never know because Darcy will never fire him. Miller will be gone before Ruff is. I would really like to see this team with a new coach and goalie.
