They need to change these stupid loopholes so that signing bonus counts against the cap all in the first year, and then the contract itself is spread out over the term of the contract. This is just a case of "I am rich, and I can do what ever I want" While it might be permitted in the current CBA, this is not good for the NHL

As a fan of a team that has had: A) committed (but not ridiculously rich) owners,
B) (ridiculously rich but...) criminal owners, and C) (ridiculously rich but...) inept owners, It's about time Buffalo has an owner that is committed AND can compete with the big markets for once. We deserve this, and if by giving out ridiculous bonuses nabs us some good players in our quest for this city's first major championship, then SO BE IT!!!
