I'd take Nash over Doan. Even in 6 seasons when Nash's contract expires he will still be 33. Doan will get a 4 year over 35 contract for probably $4-5 AAV. After Pronger I wouldn't wish one of those contracts on any team.... except maybe the rangers. |

I think hawks will land one of Ryan Smyth,Shane Doan or Tomas Holmstrom..Also I expect Adam Burish to sign with the Hawks - hawkshossa81
Holmstrom and Burish would be a super Fail |

Matt Carle headed to the UFA market. Only a couple of weeks ago, he seemed all but certain to re-sign with #Flyers. Wideman contract impact? -- Spector's Hockey (@SpectorsHockey)
This is a player the hawks should go 'all in' for. |

Homstrom would improve the power play tremendously he can still stand in front of the net and would be a huge upgrade over andrew burnette |

Huge upgrade?
About the only thin Holmstrom can do is stand in front of the net. Anything else, he's about equal to Brunette.
Pass. |

Holmstron needs another Swede for pregame routine, now that Lidstrom is gone |

Yes Holmstrom in front of the net on the PP is a huge upgrade over anyone that we currently have who plays in front of the net |

if suter is signed, the hawks arent going to have much room to do anything else...i guess it isnt too bad considering the depth and prospects the hawks have at forward |

Allen would be a nice pickup. Ek doesn't even have the Hawks in the running for Suter so I guess the Hawks have a good shot at him.

Besides this small revelation, how does Holmstrom help the team?
I just don't see the point in paying Holmstrom just to stand in front of the net when there are other areas that are in need.
Anyways, Holmstrom is either going back to Detroit, or going to Sweden. No sense in arguing over Holmstrom.

Not saying it turned out well at all just saying that Holmstrom is alot better and an upgrade over brunette in front of the net
And our PP was terrible last year and i think having a guy like Holmstrom standing in front of the net would cause havoc for opposing goalies..
I mean one of the main reasons why we lost to phoenix is cause no one was able to screen any shots in front of Mike Smith |

Well, if it's a 4 year deal that Doan wants, then I agree, but if you can get Doan for 2 years I do it in a heartbeat. |
