Hearing some scuttle that #pens could front-load to get Parise or Suter, not likely both. Would not mesh with what I had heard previously.

Looking at cap geek and in fact if the Pens do sign Parise.....it's all in for 12-13 and then after that.....lots of money going to less than half of a roster. |

I would have liked Prust, but 2.5m per year is way too much. |

What about the "close to home" connection? Vancouver (especially) and Philly seem like a reach. - scorerstouch
So is Detroit - a plane vs. less than 3 hours by car. |

I've been watching soccer.
Did Foligno get traded for Methot?
Are you kidding me??????
Meanwhile the Hawks would have to give them everything.
A 6-7 d man for Foligno. Uhm. Stan. They could have had Foligno for nothing. Thus is a joke.

Like #Flyers the #Wild have thrown the kitchen sink at Parise/Suter. Going rate on all #NHL offers are now minimum 12 years between 80-90M

Back from my nap and things just got worse. Parise to PIT, wow... that's a scary team. It does make it better though that Parise is replacing Staal in a way. Parise is better, but much less damaging than Parise and Staal. Prust, would have liked him, but wouldn't have touched him with a 10 ft pole for 4 years. I think the bad thing here is how long into FA it's been and no real rumors or movement from the Hawks. I just can't believe Bowman hasn't even offered a contract to Suter, Doan, and not even an attempt at Parise.. Ugh. |

Apparently, it's the market.
We keep saying "too much for this guy", "too many years for that one".
Want to pay the game? Want to improve your team? Want to actually contend for the Cup?
THAT'S THE MARKET - $hit or get off the pot. |

With these owners throwing out all these ridiculous contracts it seems like they will have trouble at the bargaining table for a new CBA |

My thoughts precisely...
Even the Wings are hardly "close" to Madison...may as well stay in Nashville if that's the case. Perhaps the ol', "he'd like to be near his family" line, is actually a load of shyt? |

^This is why you don't pull triggers on FA's haphazardily because most of these deals are out of whack. |

parise hasn't committed to the Pens. the Pens beat writers won't confirm that and they are closer than some of these randoms on twitter. |

At the end of the day when the smoke clears, SB will have done nothing but maybe a minor tweaks. I believe that they said they would make a big splash cause that is what Hawk Nation wants to hear. Also it will be anounced that they were in deep on every deal but the deals signed by the players they were after would have thinned the team of its depth.

Methot is not a 6-7 dman. He would be #4 on the Hawks and many other teams. Once again, Stan Blowman is sitting on his A$$ and doing nothing. I have a sick feeling in my stomach and don't think it is going away anytime soon.

Why do I have this sick feeling in my stomach, that Stanbo does nothing, and says, "We'll just stick with the players and prospects we have" - hockey nut 28
Not worth getting sick over....this is who the current Bowmanized management is. No boldness and overly in luv with their smurf style of talent and play.
No surprise at all that the Hawks are crickets chirping so far..... |

Definately. Prust had 7 goals last year. Sure he's a beast at fighting, but a guy like Bollig makes less than 1m. |
